This content was provided by Dr. Kindl "Dr. Kindl is board certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University. At LSU he was a varsity swimmer and an Academic All-American while he earned his medical degree. For the next five years, as part of his internship and residency, Dr. Kindl continued advanced training in orthopedic surgery at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and University of Alabama in Birmingham. While in Birmingham he trained under the world-renowned orthopedic physician of professional athletes Dr. James Andrews. Following his orthopedic residency, he completed a year-long fellowship specializing in sports medicine at the non-profit education and research organization, Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond. He is a fellowship-trained board certified specialist in upper extremity and sports medicine surgical procedures, and has been an orthopedic consultant for various professional, collegiate, and high school sports teams including Hampden Sydney College (Hampden Sydney, VA) and the Washington Redskins (Washington DC). Dr. Kindl has also been a medical volunteer for the Virginia Special Olympics. Dr. Kindl has tremendous experience in the field of minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques that emphasizes a potentially easier and quicker recovery. These principles, initially developed for the competitive athlete, apply to all injuries whether they occur in the recreational environment, work place, or at home."
