This content was provided by Dr. Forsythe "Probably the majority of injuries don't require surgeries. So it's important for patients to recognize and understand that they're seeing us because they need a surgical perspective. Much of what we do is non-operative management, which is why it's so important to listen to patients because if we just made decisions based on MRI findings or X-rays, at times, you might be doing something unnecessarily. Immediately following surgery, patients will have some symptoms of pain, and that's normal. But nowadays with minimally invasive techniques, this is much less of a consideration. And the fact that patients are going home the same day and that they're comfortable in their own homes and that we're readily available and accessible, I think alleviates a lot of their stress and concern and anxiety. Getting patients back to work, back to sports and activities that they love doing is the most gratifying aspect of what we do. So it's something we cherish, and it's really a privilege to have that opportunity."
