I have been seeing Dr. Couri for about 18 months for multi-issues with chronic pain. I initially went to him because he was recommended for radio-frequency ablation for my knee osteo-arthritis. But in addition to treating that he has also helped me through some severe lower back pain, several bouts of sciatica, and a wonky shoulder. A couple of things to know about the doctor -- the first time or two I had to wait a long time in the waiting room to see him. I think the first time is was almost an hour and a half. But I later learned why. He spends as much time with the patient as they need and he was one of the most thorough doctors I've ever seen. He really wanted to understand the history of my problems, etc. He also is frequently in surgery and now that I've gone thru a few surgical procedures with him, I can see how back-ups in the surgical center can affect his office hours. He is very serious about his work, which I appreciated. I recommend him highly.

I'm struggling to write this review because I like Dr Couri so much. He's great Smart, great guy. But the office or SOMEONE doesnt give a rip about patients or how they inconvenience their patients. I call, Ive been put on hold for over 30 minutes, someone picks up and hangs up, I called back, on hold for 20 minutes and finally give up. They dont care and they find an excuse to not do their jobs. I have established scheduled appts only to be told that 2 procedures cant be done on the same day & they need to reschedule. Unsure y patients are told conflicting info..ok that's fine, we reschedule. Someone called yesterday to confirm the appt Ive been waiting for because I direly need it. Got a voicemail just now saying that the Dr has to reschedule because he has a meeting. Patients dont matter, existing appts dont matter. Patients come last. Appt rescheduled the same day as an operation with another dr. NOBODY CARES. Staff NEEDS to b replaced. Dr needs to care about patients.

Dr. Couri was able to manage my back issues and sciatic pain successfully when others could not. He also resolved my rotor cuff problems. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Couri.

Dr. Couri is a game changer for the herniated discs in my lower back. His nurses, as well, are outstanding, understanding, and professional. Dr. Couri is extremely thorough before making a diagnosis and administering treatment. I highly recommend Dr. Couri and all the staff at the Elmhurst office.

This man has truly saved my life. I have multiple physical issues; double spinal fusion, Trigeminal Neuralgia, permanent nerve damage in arm, artificial disc replacement in neck. Dr. Couri has been by my side, guiding me, treating me and supporting me through each and every step. Could not ask for a more knowledgeable, caring and compassionate person. He is worth a hundred times more than any minute you wait. You wait, because he cares and spends as long as needed and then some trying to help you as a person. A quality missing in many doctors because they allow themselves to be ruled by insurance companies. Dr. Couri is ruled by his genuine desire to be a doctor and help his patients.

I am always AMAZED at the number of patients who complain about Wait times to see any Dr - from scheduling an appt, visiting the office to on the telephone. In any large metro area Drs are extremely busy; a great Dr is ALWAYS worth the wait! As a diagnostician, Dr Couri pinpoints the problem exactly, efficiently, and lays out a groundwork for further care. It almost always begins w/physical therapy, as building strength & endurance from the inside is usually the best approach. See this Dr!!!!

Dr. Couri is an excellent diagnostician. He can quickly see what might be wrong and suggests reasonable treatments. Surgery would be the last resort. He used injections to help me with severe back pain. And followed up with physical therapy. My pain is hardly noticeable now.

I would not recommend this Doctor or his staff to anyone. I waited over an hour to be seen. Once tests were finished I have still not received my results 6 weeks later. They won't send them to me unless I come to the office to sign a form and I live an hour away. Keep saying they sent to my Dr. but still have not after three requests. They are demanding payment and I have no idea what they found. Horrible staff. Please try elsewhere this staff is amazingly incompetent.

I am truly grateful to Dr. Couri. He properly diagnoised me in one appt. I was misdiagnosed from an injury for 5 months. He is the most thorough MD I’ve ever met. I read how he can have long wait times. I do not mind at all. He is worth it! I was seeing a MD at DMG who misdiagnosed my injury. She dismissed mine and the physical therapists concerns. It was awful. I would still have no plan of care and be in pain if it wasn’t for Dr. Couri. I am going to recommend all of my DMG patients to see him

This is a 2 start not because of the doctor, but because of the staff. Dr. Couri is very nice and knowledgeable. However, his staff is rude. I was put on hold for over 5 minutes and then disconnected. When I called back I was placed on hold again without so much as a hello can you please hold and I stayed on hold for over 5 minutes but less than 10 minutes. I was then told that we could not see Dr. Couri for over a month, even if the doctor had requested to see us for an injection.

After reading all these great reviews, I was hoping to get an appointment with this doctor. Unfortunately, there is a three 1/2 month waiting list. Supports these reviews that he is good. Disappointed but cannot wait that long, given pain is happening now. :(

I have been a patient of Dr. Couris' for a few years now, and I am extremely happy with his treatment and care of me. I would recommend him to anyone I know, and I feel sure they would be as pleased as I am. I would run out of room if I listed everything, so I'll try to keep to the salient points. He takes his time with you, he listens to what you have to say, and he is incredibly knowledgeable. He considers your complete health situation. Not just what he's treating you for.I think he's great.

I have been a patient of Dr. Couri's for many years. At the request of my Ortho, I changed doctors. I am back with Dr. Couri. He is very compassionate, listens well, and explains all your options. Plus, he is funny, which may not be important to many, but to me, it helps to put me at ease. If I could give him a 10, I would!

Dr Couri is an outstanding doctor, easily the best I have ever visited. He is intelligent, thoughtful, dedicated, respectful, genuine, and kind. When a patient is with him, he is focused on the patient. We discuss treatment options, and I participate fully in decisions about my care. I often recommend him to others. In addition to being a great doctor, he is truly one of the best people I have ever met. I cannot say enough good things about him!
