Dr Gilbert had replaced my left hip 4 years ago. It healed perfectly. He replaced my right knee this week on Monday and I am walking with no pain, 3 days later, on Thursday. I had been told by others that my knee repair would hurt more than my hip. I have very little pain. I have much less pain after 3 days than I had before the surgery. The staff members at Rex Hospital were great. Dr. Gilbert has extensive experience with these joints. I am quite surprised that I feel this great so soon. I went to my first PT today and the staff said I was progressing very quickly. I will say that I have been working out in my gym and also doing yoga at home for the past two years. I can’t overstate the importance of strengthening your core and all of your muscles. I believe that this is contributing to my recovery. Dr. Gilbert performed a wonderful repair on my knee. I highly recommend that you schedule an appointment with him and get your sore joints cared for by him and his team.

Televisit. I understand that a doctor's time is valuable, but a $50 co-pay for a one-minute call seems a bit much, especially when Humana had suspended co-pays on in-person visits. That's my complaint for the day ... wouldn't even think about using anyone other than Dr. Gilbert! I'm 70 with two good knees after a lifetime of playing ball ... what else can I say!?

On 6/17/20,Dr. Gilbert performed a right hip replacement for me which has improved the quality of my life dramatically. Besides carrying out tasks of every day life, I now can walk/hike 4-5 miles daily... with zero pain. If you are in need of this type of surgery, I highly recommend Dr. Gilbert. He can be described as brilliant, confident and compassionate. Not only is Dr. Gilbert a gifted surgeon, he is a great human being.

I have now experienced two (left & right) hip replacements with Dr. Gilbert. Both surgeries went well as did the Physical Therapy. Dr. Gilbert's Emergo Orthro team as well as the staff at Triangle Orthopedic Surgery Center are second to none.

Dr. Gilbert performed right hip replacement and then I returned for left. I can walk again upright and without pain. He is an excellent surgeon. He has a no nonsense personality and is very confident, which I appreciate. My husband is now seeing Dr. Gilbert for his knee.

This was my 3 month post total knee replacement visit. It was quick, but he was just checking out flexion and extension and highly impressed with progress I made.. it was his skill, my PT work... awesome result. He's not a chatty guy, but, I need skill and experience in a surgery like this.

I am a nurse and had to put off a knee replacement for several years because of caring for an elderly parent. I was referred to Dr. Gilbert by another physician. He took the time to help me process how I could care for myself and find the care my parent would need through a referral to his on staff psychologist. The surgery and physical therapy after have far exceeded my expectations! After so many years of living with pain that severely limited my life I am pain free thanks to the exceptional care I’ve received. He is an excellent, caring MD and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Gilbert replaced my knee four months ago, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. It’s still amazing to me that I can walk and do regular activities now with no pain. Dr. Gilbert is not only a skilled surgeon, but he also excels at explaining procedures, answering questions, and calming fears. I can’t say enough good things about him and the whole EmergeOrtho team!

Dr. Gilbert and his staff are members of a five star organization. I was in the hospital only one night, and I had very little pain during the complete process, including the physical therapy ... I took only one pain pill during the 3 month recovery, at which time I returned to doubles tennis 2 times per week at age 81.
