I was referred to Dr. Wiesel by a co-worker who had the same "rotator cuff" surgery several years ago. I was so impressed with him the day we met for my first appointment. He was very kind, very thorough, very open for questions and took time with me instead of making me feel as if I were on an assembly line. My surgery went well, my post surgical recovery was superb, my post surgical visits and PT are quite remarkable. I am so grateful to Dr. Wiesel and I would recommend him highly.
in Washington, DC |
Got my shoulders and neck checked in less than 4 minutes, despite complaints about aggravations and pains in both shoulders and neck. No time for Q&A, just told to go to therapy.
in Fairfax, VA |
This was my second shoulder surgery with Dr Wiesel. I am so pleased with the care and concern of the Georgetown staff that I have referred a close friend to Dr Wiesel. Dr Wiesel is the only person I would trust with such an operation. Although this was a difficult surgery for me I am so grateful to Dr Wiesel for the professional touches he has added to my health care.
in Arlington, VA |
I had shoulder pain, which Dr. Wiesel diagnosed as a rotator cuff issue. Dr. Weisel administered a cortisone injection and the pain greatly diminished. This visit was followed up with 6 weeks of PT 2x a week and in have no further issues. i would definitely go back to Dr. Weisel if i had other shoulder problems.
in Potomac, MD |
Dr. Wiesel was timely for all appointments, spent the time necessary to explain all options, and provided excellent follow up care post surgery. Most important he came highly recommended and for good reason. As a result of a car accident he operated on both my shoulders and I have had an excellent result. I have full range of motion and I am pain free. I would highly recommend Dr. Wiesel to family and friends.
in Washington DC |
Dr. Wiesel performed surgery on me outside of his area of specialization in shoulder repair. The surgery appears to have been successful but he was overly aggressive in post surgical recommendations which has impeded my recovery. He is brusque and difficult to communicate with and fails to impart more than the minimum amount of information. I have never spent more than 5 minutes in his presence. All treatment coordination is punted to physical therapists. I would not recommend him..

Dr. Wiesel is an all around pro - not only is he clearly tremendously knowledgable and talented, he also has great 'bedside manner.'
in Derwood, MD |
I was referred to Dr. Brent Wiesel for my extreme shoulder pain. He is a 'shoulder specialist' which made me feel confident of his ability to help me. He listened to my concerns and correctly diagnosed my problem. He recommended a few options (which we tried), but eventually I had to get a Total Shoulder Replacement. Dr. Wiesel preformed the surgery on Nov 10th and now just 5 weeks later I feel amazing and PAIN FREE. He gave me my life back and I owe him much gratitude.
in Greenbelt, MD |
On 11/23/2014 I totally shredded my right rotator cuff, thinking I had just sprained my upper arm muscles. After months of increasing pain and numbness I went to Dr. Weisel who, after X-rays & MRIs, informed me of my injury & the required surgery. Dr. W.'s reassurance and caring approach helped me reconcile the surgery, immobilization and convalescense. Today at my 2nd post-op exam Dr. W. presented me with the best Christmas gift ever-my shoulder is completely healed, 100% ROM! God Bless Dr. W!
in Washington, DC |
My experience has been distinguished by competent, compassionate, and stellar care. He repaired my Left Rotator Cuff three years ago with 100% success. He recently executed a very complicated surgical solution for multiple deteriorations in my right shoulder that yielded successful results once again. Although I am just entering the critical physical therapy phase of this procedure, I feel confident that the next six months will progress without incident. Dr.Wiesel is my medical hero!
