Our experience with Dr Ryan was great from the very beginning. The day of surgery he made my family rest assured I would be in good hands...he gave updates throughout the surgery to my family and upon completing it, came out and explained everything he did during the surgery. DR RYAN really gives his upmost attention to his patients and detail in his work as a surgeon. I would highly recommend him a as a surgeon and I’m thankful he was with me and my family during my duration with colon cancer.

Wonderful and capable surgeon. Spends time and explains. Never rushed. I had a good surgical outcome and no problems. Would have him again and recommend him to others. Because he spends time with each patient you may wait a bit but it's not overly long and worth it in the end.

I feel he actually cares about his patients. I would not want any other surgeon besides him. He explains everything to you so that you understand what needs to be done. I have seen him since 2007. I have had to have several surgeries since then. I would not want anyone else.

Dr. Ryan's demeanor with me as a patient could not have been better. He LISTENS to his patients and gave me options within the context of his professional guidance. His reputation in the community and with the O.R. staff as a surgeon is stellar and his work with robotic surgery is known to be the best in the area. I can attest to that after having him perform surgery on me. My recovery was amazing, even though I am 65 years old

I had an embilical hernia and diastasis recti separation. Doctor Ryan was recommended by my gastro doctor. He explained everything very well. He gave me two options for surgery. I chose to have both problems repaired, instead of just having the hernia repaired. Dr. Ryan did the procedure using a robot, and making only three 1 inch incisions. I took the strong pain relief for only two & 1/2 days. I am thrilled with the results. Dr. Ryan is the best.

My experience started out very well with Dr. Ryan. Five years ago he started treating me and I was satisfied until approximately 9 or 10 months ago he has been watching an AAA aneurysm Dr. Ryan appears to be a decent doctor but Virginia Vascular Associates isn’t. The receptionist and the nurses act like there God. If you have concerns about your health and want to talk to the doctor they refuse to let you because it isn’t that serious and you don’t know medicine.

Dr. Ryan took extremely good care of my nephew. Being a teenager, he was nervous about the thought of "surgery". Dr. Ryan was very patient and spoke to him in a way that made him feel at ease. He has a wonderful bedside manner for patients of all ages. He made sure we all understood what was going to happen and what to expect. We knew we were in the best of hands.

Exceptional surgeon with excellent bedside manner. He takes his time and explains things well. I felt very comfortable before my surgery. I was well taken care of afterward. Surgery is not generally a pleasant experience, but this is as good as it gets!

I had a very poor outcome with Dr Ryan and have suffered ever since. After I reported my problem he didn't investigate further by performing imaging or labwork. Being I wasn't experiencing a blatant injury he simply ignore my complaints hoping I would go away without leaving a blemish on his record. My condition should have been investigated more prior. I also suffered a small hernia due to his surgery and he was quick to offer to fix it. Another surgeon said it was too small to operate. Beware!

Dr. Ryan saved my life. I will be forever thankful for the care he provided. He performed an emergency appendectomy on me. Then, I suffered a post appendectomy abdominal abscess, which had gotten to a very critical point due to my own stubbornness. He took care of that as well. I guess you could say he saved my life twice. He had wonderful bedside manner, and always thoroughly answered every question from my wife and I.
