Dr Boyd performed a bilateral knee and hip replacement on me. The experience was exceptionally wonderful. He and his staff are extremely caring and pleasant. One of his best qualities is that he is a great listener and eliminates the fear of complex procedure(s). I am walking better now than i have in years and planning a cross-country bike ride this summer. If you are in need of knee(s)or hip(s) replacements you owe it to yourself to visit him and his staff.

I made the right decision in asking Dr. Boyd to do my surgery. He is an expert in robotically assisted total knee replacement. The surgery was done without a tourniquet. He used the latest in anesthesia and pain management techniques. The image of my knee post-surgery was textbook perfect. My trust in Dr. Boyd was well founded.

Words can not express how happy I have been with Dr. Boyd. As someone who is also a healthcare provider, I have extremely high standards for those taking the lead with my healthcare. I am so, SO glad that I have Dr. Boyd to take care of me, especially after learning that he prefers a more homeopathic approach to medicine than most orthopedic doctors (re: he doesn't go for surgery right away! Instead, he prefers to try to let the body do what it's supposed to do and heal first). Dr. Boyd has taken such great care of me and my injuries. Unlike another doctor-who-must-not-be-named jumped right to saying I needed surgery, Dr. Boyd listened to me and my goals for the future. He took this into account when approaching the care for my injuries. Not only that, but Dr. Boyd has been extremely responsive each time I have reached out to him. He has an email that I can use any time, and I always hear back from him within 24 hours. Truly, I can not imagine a better orthopedic doctor.

Dr Boyd recently performed my revision on my previous knee replacement performed by a previous Dr. This surgery was performed at Reston Hospital where from start to discharge the entire experience was perfect! Dr Boyd’s surgery fixed all of my previous hip problems. He is accurate in his work, and totally compassionate to his patients. His explanations are totally clear and concise. Thank you Dr Boyd. You’re a true blessing to me and my family.

After my first knee replacement pulled off my knee bone, I visited doctors to have it removed & my knee and leg (which became bowled) repaired. I chose Dr Boyd. His demeanor, reputation & expertise were reassuring. Nine weeks later, I’m walking a mile and I’m completely without pain. And my leg is straight thanks to rods and screws. I call him my Miracle Man and refer him to everyone I can.

I just had my knee replaced and I could not have asked for a better Doctor. Great bedside manner and very thorough in eliminating any pain through recovery. His staff is equally pleasant and do their best to accommodate schedules. I will be having my left knee done as soon as I heal the right one and I will to no other Doctor.

Beware. This doctor is terrible. Had to have my hip replaced twice. He blamed the first failure on my smoking although he never mentioned it at all throughout my appointments leading up to this surgery. He does not listen or read. By the second post-surgery visit I kept telling him something was not right. The pain was unbearable and could not be normal. It took him six months to decide the replacement had failed and needed to be redone.

I had a TKR by him in March of 2015, moved out of state 6 months later. Knee never really healed, and every step hurt, plus it buckled under me at inopportune moments. I tried ice and exercise w/no success, finally saw a local orthopod who did a revision due to a non-tracking patella. Pulmonary embolism kept me in the hospital for a week, and, 2 months out, I'm still on home O2.

After being told by several doctors, the surgery I needed was so difficult that they didn't want to attempt it. My knee was bent at a 30% angle. It had been for 19 yrs. Dr Boyd said no big deal and did a beautiful surgery with a very slight scar. He doesn't like his patients to suffer and has an awesome method of controlling the pain. We are so thankful that went to him to get the job done.
