Carpal Tunnel and cubital tunnel. Oh, what a relief it is. Held off this surgery for 2 years due to COVID. Finally got it done, and OSC, Dr. Boyd Haynes was the best. Surgery was easy, and returned to work in 5 days. Dr. Haynes and his staff is very professional and personal, and makes you feel comfortable, and important to them.

Just Do It
After 30 years of Busch Gardens season passes, I had to stop. My knee just hurt too bad. It broke my heart! Dr. Haynes replaced my knee on 8/11/21. PT started immediately in the hospital, then at home, then at a nearby office. It was hard work, but I could see results almost immediately going 3x/wk. I went back to BG for Halloween. Stayed 3 hrs. Thanks Dr. H!

Painless Carpal & Cubital Tunnels Surgery
Years ago I had a Carpal Tunnel with incision and for a few days afterwards has significant pain in my hand. Dr. Haynes performed Carpal & Cubital Tunnel surgeries in one outpatient visit and following his orders to elevate and ice for 2 days, I had absolutely no pain and within days was driving and doing many of the day to day functions normally. Thank you Dr. Haynes - you are the Best!

My Choice for Ortho
This is the second time I have visited Dr. Haynes. I had such good results with my first jiffy hip on the right side in 2011, that when my left hip started giving me problems, there was no question about where I would go for help. Dr. Haynes is knowledgeable, skilled, and kind. His staff is friendly and professional. Although my left hip is now in need of the same procedure, I am thrilled to say the right one is just as sound as it was the first day I got it. I would recommend OSC for anyone needing orthopedic services.

I had a partial hip replacement 5 years ago in Philadelphia, PA. Recently my hip was in a lot of pain. I visited, Dr. Haynes. He suggested a total hip revision. I had surgery at Mary Immaculate. I started the day under a warming blanket and then met Dr. Haynes and the anesthesiologist. Both were amazing. Before I knew it I was in recovery with a new hip. Dr. Haynes had a visiting nurse and PT come to my home. Recovery has been a piece of cake and I am now walking with just the assistance of a cane. I am so pleased with Dr. Hayne’s care. He is a miracle worker.

I broke my elbow and needed surgery which was performed by Dr. Boyd Haynes a month ago. I have regained most of my normal functioning but now am concentrating on fully straightening and fully bending my arm. Dr. Haynes did a wonderful job and by following his instructions and working my arm daily, I am continuing to gain wonderful results. I am very thankful to have had Dr. Haynes as my surgeon and very appreciative of him and his staff. I believe I received the best care possible.

Dr. Haynes performed my first hip replacement several months ago. I couldn't be more satisfied with the outcome. I had a congenital defect of the femoral head that over time caused severe arthritis to the point where it altered my gait and I couldn't run. I avoided this surgery despite the discomfort my condition caused me because of the testimony of friends that had this surgery in their early 30's and experienced painful recoveries. Now in my mid 40's my hand was forced due to needing an organ transplant and the fact that a hip replacement would be impossible after the transplant. My recovery couldn't have been easier or less painful. This is not hyperbole when I say I experienced ZERO pain during my recovery. I was understandably stiff and sore from the surgery but absolutely no pain. I was walking unassisted within 3 weeks of the surgery and I'm currently preparing for a 5k next week. Dr. Haynes was very friendly, attentive, and answered my questions and concerns. He's the best.

I can't say enough not only about the out come of my carpal tunnel surgery but he is a really nice guy not like some of the other surgeons. I was a little skeptical when he told me don't do anything for two days then after that start doing what I wanted so 1 week after surgery im back to work and lifting weights . I always thought this surgery had 6 to 8 weeks out of work im glad I talked with one of the pain management doctors at osc my hands were waking me up two or 3 times a night falling asleep and riding my Harley I couldn't wait to hit a red light to shake my hands so yes im having my left hand done next.

Dr. Haynes has operated on both of my shoulders( torn rotator cuff surgery). He is a very positive and enthusiastic surgeon with a huge amount of skill and knowledge. I have not met a doctor with such great bedside manor. His support staff is excellent , they greet you with a smile and do their part quickly and efficiently. I feel there is better communication in his office than most, they also have very good follow up procedures set to prevent any mishaps. The coordination between their practice and the hospital was seemless. To say the least, I was very impressed and extremely comfortable with Dr. Haynes and his assistant Chris from the beginning and had no doubt I was in safe and concerned hands. Important also, I would like to say their Physical therapy office ( Dr. Paige Tretter, Fred , Bill) across the road were the best and got everything lined up and synchronized. Thanks for keeping me together and able to enjoy my life and hobbies.

Dr. Boyd Haynes/PA, Chris have been a blessing to my knees for many years. Recently, after a 3 wk vacation (riding home in a car for two days, 11 hrs each day) Waking up on day 2, went to get out of the bed and somehow twisted my knee wrong. This was Saturday. I came down the stairs on my butt. I used heat off and on, sat in a chair and tried to work it out. On Sunday, it felt better, so I worked in the yard. Yea! Monday morning, my same knee was stiff as a board. I could not bend my knee. Again, down the stairs on my butt. By noon, my husband called Dr. Haynes office, explained my problem and asked if I could be seen right away, due to the pain and stiffness I was having in my knee/leg. His office made an appointment for the very same day at 4:30 p.m. Dr. Haynes and PA, Chris both saw me. Agreement was to have the fluid drained off my knee first and a cortisone shot was administered. Next day, I felt like a NEW woman. Since the shot, I am back to normal. I Love this Group!

Dr. Haynes successfully operated on my, what he would describe as a severe, rotator cuff. He doubted I would recover enough to swim by the summer. With the great help of the OSC physical therapy team and hard consistent work at home, I was committed to gain my full range of motion. I not only improve nearly four months ahead of schedule, but went swimming on my vacation. This was a difficult recovery and I am still working at home to improve every day. I am thankful I followed the recommendations of co-workers and went to OSC.

Before Dr. Boyd Haynes did my “jiffy hip” surgery, I was convinced I was going to have to move from the third floor apartment that I love. My arthritic hip was making the 38 steps to my apartment increasingly hard to climb. And with no elevator, it looked as if moving was my only choice. Dr. Haynes told me that if my hip was the only reason I thought I should move, that wouldn’t be an issue. He was right. Just two weeks post op, I am going up and down the stairs with no pain and little difficulty. Before the surgery, wherever I went, kind people asked me if I needed help as I struggled with my cane to get back to my car after shopping. Today, after just over two weeks, I am walking unassisted by a cane or walker. Dr. Haynes answered all my questions and seemed to sense concerns I hadn’t voiced. And his caring manner gave me confidence. I could not have asked for a better outcome or a better surgeon. I would recommend Dr. Haynes to anyone considering a hip replacement.

Dr. Haynes changed my quality of life after surgery for Carpal Tunnel. After having the nerve test & his diagnosis of sever Carpal Tunnel in both hands my left hand was done first. Just as he had said, no stitches, no brace, just surgically wrapped hand for 2 days & after 10 days wound had healed. I was so excited how well it happened I am now having the right hand done in 3 weeks. I highly recommend Dr. Boyd Haynes III, MD of Orthopaedic & Spine Center, Newport News, Va. to anyone suffering with Carpal Tunnel. Not only is he an excellent surgeon but kind & has compassion for his patients. Thank you Dr. Haynes.

From the consultation to setting up surgery was a quick and easy. Everyone was very informative and I was confident in the procedure I was about to have. The actual surgery time was minimal. After listening to Dr. Haynes about keeping my hand elevated for 48 hrs following the surgery a few days later I was back to my regular routine with nearly full strength. Only slight pillar pain in my palm that Dr. Haynes assures me will go away on its own eventually. Even that doesn't keep me from my daily activities. I would highly recommend carpel tunnel surgery with Dr. Haynes.
