I am honored to be a part of womens lives when theyre going through exciting changes and sometimes sad changes as well such as miscarriage and pregnancy loss. It can be an exciting emotional time. I really enjoy getting to know my patients throughout their whole life whether its her first OB/GYN visit to having her first baby to menopause. My clinical interests are general obstetrics recurrent pregnancy loss contraception and family planning. I work with our residency program in our family planning clinic where I am the director and I am also associate residency director. I grew up on a small farm in western North Carolina and went to undergraduate at UNC-Chapel Hill. After undergraduate school I joined the Peace Corps and went to Ecuador then came back to the area for medical school. My husband and I have a two year old son who takes up the bulk or our time and consumes a lot of our energy. I have learned a lot from having a son that I put to use in my in practice in obstetrics and how I take care of women in pregnancy.
