Dr. Schubert treats people the ways she wants to be treated. She does her best to listen attentively with respect and compassion.
She wants her patients to be involved in their treatment plan and ask the "stupid" and "embarrassing" questions. And yes, there are stupid questions, but she promises to be nice about it. She tells people frequently "if you can't ask me, there's really nobody you can ask."
Dr. Schubert was born in the San Diego Naval Hospital on an undisclosed date. She moved quite a bit during her youth due to her dad's jobs after he left the Navy, living in New Hampshire, Maryland, Virginia, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania. She graduated from Penn State in 1987 with a degree in Biology/Genetics and a minor in Anthropology. She then graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania (now a part of Drexel University) in 1991. If you're really curious about her age, you can do the math. She interned at MCP and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1995. Dr. Schubert has practiced OB/GYN for 20 years and still likes what she does. She does not, however, like paperwork or red tape so has made the decision to change her business model in a way that is unique in this area. She does not accept any insurance plans. Her practice is completely fee-for-service. This allows her to keep overhead and staffing low which leads to very reasonable fees. In this era of very high deductible plans this has been very attractive to many patients. Dr. Schubert has two girls and a variety of pets, but no farm animals. Yet. She hasn't found a craft she doesn't like and actively knits, sews, spins, and soon will be weaving. She also loves to cook when she has the time.
