Dr. Powers first began practice in Colorado in 1987 and has joined South Denver in 2004, after spending two years in the Philadelphia area at Villanova. Areas of interest include medical informatics, irritable bowel syndrome and advanced endoscopy. He has served the Arapahoe Medical Society as chairman of the Patient Advocacy Committee, a member of the Professional Review Committee and as a delegate to the Colorado Medical Society.
Effective communication is prerequisite for good medical care. Not all problems are easy to solve and not all clinical questions have answers. I will do my best to apply the science in my field to serve the interest of those patients for whom it can provide benefit. I can neither endorse or discourage "alternative" health concepts since, generally, there is insufficient science behind the claims that are being made, one way or the other.
