Dr. Benny is a nationally recognized spine and musculoskeletal physician. He is a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist who specializes in Spine and Musculoskeletal care. He did his internship at Wayne State University and his PM&R residency at the Baylor-University of Texas Alliance in Houston, Texas. He then went on to complete an interventional spine and sports fellowship through the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. In 2006 Dr. Benny at The Baylor College of Medicine developed the Spine and Sports Fellowship through the department of PM&R. He currently is in private practice as the founder and medical director of The Spine and Sports Center while continuing to help with resident and fellowship education. Dr. Benny is a Clinical adjunct Associate Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine and Clinical adjunct Assistant professor at The University of Texas Health science center in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He also is clinical faculty at the Houston Methodist Hospital, Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship. He continues to be involved nationally as a member of the Spine Intervention Society as part of the Research Division, and also involved in the North American Spine Society as part of the section on Rehabilitation, and Interventional Medical Spine (RIMS) and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
