Care Philosophy

This content was provided by Dr. Potkin "Dr Potkins is committed to providing his patients exceptional care with special attention to quality of life and alleviation of fear and suffering. He wants his patients and their families to enjoy their precious lives. Several of his simple but true adages are that the most important lesson he learned in Medical school is that life is fragile and precious and not be taken for granted. That the rare complication or adverse outcome, is not rare to the person who experiences it, for that PERSON IT IS 100%. These basic concepts keep him focused on providing the best medical care for his patients."

Berkeley, CA |
Dr Potkin was the doctor on call at my nephew's cardiology office. I reached him on a long holiday weekend because my nephew had an infection after having a heart valve replacement recently. We were told to immediately contact his cardiologist if this happened, because of the risk of endocarditis. Dr Potkin was rude, dismissive, and refused to call in a prescription for antibiotics. I would warn anyone to avoid this doctor. I ended up contacting the surgeon at Stanford for help.

By far my best experience with a doctor. Fast, efficient, and well versed.
in Watsonville, CA |
Would not recommend!!! Poor communication. Too long of a wait for the scheduling of life threatening procedures. Office wait times over an hour beyond scheduled appointment time.
