Commitment has always been the human attribute which I find most important. The facets of my life that have molded me – family, athletics, music, and career –instilled within me the priority to identify, create and achieve specific goals. The lessons learned from raising three children while in medical school and residency have made me a stronger father and husband. My experience as a Duke University varsity cross-country and track athlete sharpened my competitiveness and strengthened my dedication. My athletic and injury experience also introduced me to the intricate dynamics of the sports medicine profession, a vocation that requires a multi-disciplinary understanding of individuals, teams, trainers, therapists, and coaches. I look forward to being a part of this greater team. Finally, playing and composing music has expanded my ability to innovate, teach, and learn in a highly creative atmosphere, while also giving me the opportunity to closely collaborate with very diverse individuals outside of the medical field. Successfully undertaking all of these life pursuits is a reflection of my total commitment which I bring to my career in sports medicine.
