I highly recommend Dr. Amis. There was not much wait time after the check in and absolutely no time after his assistant talked to me and took x-rays. Dr. Amis listened to everything I had to say and ask about my finger issue. His explanation of the treatment plan was not excessive at all and very thorough and thoughtful.

Dr. Amis may be the best hand surgeon going. I have had an issue with one of my fingers on my right hand since I injured it when I was a veteran during the Vietnam War. I have seen many physicians since and nothing worked. My Rt hand and finger are now working like a champ! Thank you very much!!!

Dr. Amis performed a new procedure on my thumb. He used a “slingshot”, a tiny piece of metal to connect (I think) my thumb and index finger. He did not have to take tendon from my forearm. Dr. Amis also gave me a 3 day nerve block following surgery. He has a small office and his care is personal and patient. I was referred to Dr. Amis buy an anesthesiologist who works with many doctors which I think is a strong referral.

Dr. Amis took the time to thoroughly and clearly explain my problem, and the options for treatment. I felt truly seen, not rushed through like I did with a previous hand surgeon. His calm and open demeanor were most helpful when I had to endure a steroid shot. I recommend him wholeheartedly!

Dr. Amis took time to listen to me describing my injury, reviewing my X-ray with me and presenting me with four treatment options. He explained why the one he was recommending would Immediately address the injury and result in faster healing time. It’s the second day after treatment and I’m already seeing very good results. Dr. Amis and his staff were friendly, efficient, caring and everyone made the experience as easy as they could for me. Dr. Amis has a good chair side manner which is the type of Dr. that I want to treat me.

Although I was surprised there was not the requisite five pages of forms to fill out, I only had to wait about five minutes before I was taken to the room. During the pre interview the nurse found out that I had had some electrical testing done on my hand so before proceeding, the doctor asked that those tests be sent over so he could review them along with the x-rays he took and the MRI previously taken. Dr. Amis obviously takes a very conservative approach to healing of the situation, with surgery being a last resort. I completely appreciate that.

I saw Dr. Amis for a couple of lumps in my hand, that had been there quite a while and were growing. He did not push surgery, but presented me with all the options. I first opted not to have surgery, but then decided to go ahead. At that point, Dr. Amis said, that's what he would do, if it was him. The operation was fine. His staff were professional and helpful. Now, some months later, my hand works great, no restrictions in movement, no pain, and--he was right--it is such a relief to have the lumps gone. Dr. Amis was kind and caring and explained everything very carefully. He looks at you--not at a computer, which some practitioners do today. He was the 2nd doctor I saw and the one I felt most confident about. Also, there were no surprises with the bill. His staff said that my insurance would cover it all, and it did. He's a professional and compassionate doctor and I highly recommend him, and his staff. Thank you, Dr. Amis!

I am a retired Physician and know a bit about doctors ways after 30 years of practice. Dr. Amis is a rare bird on these days of fast, impersonal and low quality Dr.-Patient encounters. The man listens and is genuinely interested on your story. Does a good quality interrogation after you give your piece. Takes time to examine you . Explains, even to another doctor, your condition well with no Bull and with good examples. His language is not that of a technocrat but , rather, of a man that wants to be understood. All in all, an exceptional practitioner of the art. I was very impressed and will make sure he becomes my family's ortho guy.
