I have been with this office since 2010 and have always been treated with the most respect and kindness from the staff. They all have always taken time to listen to any of my concerns and help me to solve them. This office has always been very well kept and organized. I always advise people I know who are seeking the same type of medical attention I need to call here.

He cares about his patients!
Despite pursuing everything I could think of, and being told that there are no more options available by other specialists Dr. Assaf was able to get me admitted to Mayo without me even having to ask him to do so. He also did the same for a prior surgical infection but his referral that time was to a local specialist. He does not stop like others until his patients are healed. Even if that means redirecting business to other physicians. This is unusual for our area in my experience. Hopefully now, after 16 years of we are so sorry but there is nothing more that can be done for you, I will finally be able to live a normal like again. Thank you Bassam.

My mother was seen in this office by Dr. Assaf. We requested a neurosurgery referral to the University of Iowa and/or Mayo Clinic for an opinion about the surgery option. The recommendations at the University of Iowa were similar to those by Dr. Assaf. We canceled the other opinion at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Assaf was very thorough and explained her condition well. She was seen promptly after she completed paperwork. The office was very prompt in sharing the records with the University of Iowa and the primary care physician. The staff was always helpful and they kept us informed. Excellent service; 10/10.

I've been coming to The Center for Neurosciences for several years now. The staff is always very professional in manner, attentive to the specific medical need/needs for which the patient is being seen for, and quite courteous. The staff always seems to go the extra mile for the patient. This facility is clean, neat and orderly. Without hesitation, I highly recommend this medical facility and staff for questions/concerns regarding the neurosciences.

Was referred to this dr for numbness in my hand that has been ongoing since October 2020. Had already had an MRI and x-rays done. Went to initial appointment, filled out tons of paperwork that had nothing to do with WHY I was being seen. Dr finally comes in after an hour of waiting ONLY to order two more MRIs and a bunch of blood work. Focuses on migraines. NOT why I was there. Go back for follow up appointment, wait another HOUR to see dr, only to have him come in and advise that I need yet ANOTHER MRI. I asked if my FMLA paperwork would be filled out due to all the time I was having to miss from work, he told me only if I agreed to the 4th MRI of the year. I became frustrated with that and his lack of knowledge on my case. Hard to say that he gets it when he is looking at the FIRST MRI results and ordering another based on those results....one would think, that would have been done before ordering the second round. Dr said he would call me THAT night, never happened. Dr & Staff RUDE.

I had an appointment to see Dr. Aassaf I never got to see. I was screened by a nurse, asking the usual questions. Told me the doctor would be in soon and that they had a student there and and asked if it would be ok if the said student came in too. Yes no problem for me standard procedure... ask...doctor comes in and introduces himself and the student and usually asks again if that was ok with the patient.....BUT!!!!... not this time. Student...no doctor at all... comes in.... no introduction of who she is and starts asking me questions some of which I already answered over and over again in paperwork and by the nurse. I asked who she was oh she is a student. Student is examining me.Where’s a doctor ? Then says the doctor will be right in but here she(student)came back with more tests for what?Doctor please! PA comes?Where’s the doctor? 3 hours there.3 MRIs ordered and blood tests it’s been 1 month later still no results. Numerous calls. Left messages with office mgr. No replies

I saw some negative reviews about Dr. Assaf that I just do NOT understand. Dr. Bassam Asssaf is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and caring. His staff is excellent in every way and well. I couldn't ask for better care in dealing with my problem. Dr. Assaf really was thinking "outside the box" in calling for tests to get to a solution. He thought of things no one else had brought up. He was extremely thorough in determining the cause of the problem. I would recommend him to anyone dealing with neurological issues. Again, this review is about Dr. Bassam Assaf in Moline. I have a caption at the top of the page that refers to a Dr. Taylor. I don't know who he is, and I started the review by looking up Dr. Assaf on this site. His picture and address came up, and I started my review under Dr. Assaf's I.D.

Dr. Assaf cares deeply about his patients' well-being and comfort. I found his professionalism, medical skills, emotional support, reassurance, kindheartedness, and compassion to be unparalleled. He is definitely one of the most gracious and understanding physicians I know. Not only did he listen to my concerns, but he also made me feel valued and respected. He and his hardworking staff were always ready to answer questions and work me into the schedule in order to meet my medical needs. I feel very lucky to have found such a brilliant physician whose skills are simply the BEST of the BEST!

I waited an hour and fifteen minutes in the exam room. Then when he finally came in First question he asked was what insurance I had. Then he asked me a couple of questions that I had already answered on the lengthy questionnaire i had filed out. He asked me if I knew why I was losing my balance and falling down. I told him that was why I was there to find out why He seemed totally disinterested and ordered tests I had already had. I think I spent about 15 minutes with him

Dr. Assaf is by far the best doctor I have ever met. I struggled with undiagnosed, unmedicated myasthenia gravis for 2 years after receiving no help from the many doctors I had seen, no one could tell me what was wrong with me. Dr. Assaf was the first doctor to actually examine me, spend time learning and talking with me, and was extremely helpful. He mentioned myasthenia gravis within 5 mins of my first appointment, prescribed me the correct medication and I had relief within hours of leaving his office, after years of struggling. I went from not being able to walk, to being in remission within 4 months thanks to Dr. Assaf. I truly believe this doctor saved me, when every other doctor I had seen had let me down. His staff is very nice, the nurses, Dr. Assaf & the nurse practitioner are all amazing, great listeners that really sit down and take the time to help you.
