Growing up in northern California, Dr. Ceverha did his undergraduate work at the University of California at Berkeley prior to attending medical school at the University of Southern California (USC).
Dr. Ceverha was selected as the supervisor for neurological surgery residents during his last year in the residency program. Upon completing his medical training, he started his own busy practice in Long Beach in 1980, however he continued to share his time as a clinical instructor at LA County/USC Medical Center through 2002. Throughout the years, Dr. Ceverha has written numerous articles and held several positions at Long Beach Memorial. Since 2012 he has held the position of Medical Director of the Neuro Intensive Care Unit at Long Beach Memorial.
Dr. Ceverha belongs to several medical societies and last year became a Certified Medical Board Review Expert for the Medical Board of California. His high standard of care has earned him numerous awards and recognitions such as the Patient's Choice Award, US News and World Report – Top 10% of US NeuroSurgeons for the sixth year in a row, Compassionate Doctor, and Best Doctors among others.
Over the years, Dr. Ceverha has volunteered as coach for his children's little league teams. He is an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants baseball team.
