This doctor, without my knowledge, had his nurse practitioner do my surgery. My implant ended up being inserted crooked. For two years I complained to Dr Bal about pain and swelling. He kept telling me to be patient. Several times he told me the x-rays looked fine and time would take care of the swelling and pain. After two years, I went to another doctor. He took x-rays. When he showed me the x-ray, it was clear that the implant was crooked. I had to have another knee replacement.

He is a salesman. He will spend extra time with you and dazzle you until he has you under his wing away from another provider. He screwed up 2 implants on the same knee before I came to my senses. He kept telling me it was and easy fix. I believed him until the 3rd time he wanted to go in and do an easy fix on my bad knee when he did my good knee. I informed him my good knee was doing fine. That was my wake-up call to go some where else. $200K later I got smart, listen to your gut folks

Dr. Bal has replaced three joints for me, both my hips in 2009 and my knee in 2015. He is very caring and treats you like he really does know you and your family personally. He always asks how my business is doing and we talk about his interest in classic cars. I have recommended him to several friends, and they have all been pleased.

Not only does Dr. Bal do a great job caring for you, he remembers things such as where you work and special interests you have. You feel like you're really a person he cares about and not just another patient. He is respectful of patient choices even if they don't agree with his opinion. Even though he recommended knee replacement, he let me wait until I was ready to do the surgery. I I hope he's still available when my husband is ready for his knee replacements.
