Dr. Rahman is an excellent glaucoma specialist. We are lucky to have him in Rockford, since he is the only ophthalmologist in the area with fellowship training in glaucoma. Thanks to him my glaucoma is now under control.

Dr. Rahman says...

As the only fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist in Northern Illinois outside of the Chicago area, Dr. Rahman specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma. His interests include laser treatment, including selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) for open angle glaucoma, laser treatment of narrow angle glaucoma, trabeculectomy surgery and ExPress mini-tube shunt surgery. After graduating from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, he completed residencies in Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He completed two fellowships in ophthalmology. The first was in ophthalmic pathology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.  The second was in glaucoma from Harvard Medical School in Boston.  He has been on staff at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, where he has taught glaucoma and cataract surgery to numerous ophthalmologists in training. Dr. Rahman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
