I was referred to Dr. Abdeen by my primary care physician for hip pain. I was impressed with the ease of scheduling an appointment and x- rays. A total hip replacement was suggested but prior to suggesting surgery Dr. Abdeen went over other options to consider. I decided on surgery and am completely satisfied with the result. Throughout the process I have been impressed with the way Dr. Abdeen listens to questions and concerns and with the clarity and understanding of her answers.

I saw some reviews that Dr. Abdeen was unkind. I didn't care as long as she was a good surgeon. I didn't want tea and crumpets with her, I wanted to walk again. I had a total knee replacement by Dr. Abdeen on July 24, 2017. Every day she checked in on me in the hospital, was kind, and answered questions, but the best part was her skill in surgery. I am close to three weeks now post op, am bending at 115 degrees, and can walk without any device, even though I am told to use a cane or one crutch

I had been struggling for the past five years with pain in my hips and knees. I had gone to other orthopedic surgeons who gave me no recommendations for my hips, just tried to "sell" me on knee arthroscopy. The first time I met Dr. Abdeen she spent 45 minutes with me answering some pretty detailed questions. She helped me develop a strategy. I am now sitting in BIDMC post op where Dr. Abdeen replaced my hip She has come to see me twice. She's fantasyic. Strongly recommend.

Dr. Abdeen is not a good doctor. I ended up having to go out of state for my hip replacement, to the Hospital for Special Surgeries, because she refused to do a hip replacement on me (after initially saying 6 months before that she would do it if I came back to her in six mo the) saying that I was too young. The Dr. at HSS was appalled when he heard this, as soon as he saw my x rays he knew I needed a hip replacement asap, and any kind of arthroscopy would actually cause more damage.

My sister went to her for a knee replacement. Although the replacement went fine, she is without a doubt the most uncaring, uncompassionate medical professional I've ever witnessed. She didn't care if her patient was in pain....She's ignorant , rude, condescending, horrible human being. I am having my knee done now as well and I would NEVER go to her I don't care how good her work is!!!!

I became septic after a hip replacement done by another surgeon. I was dying from the infection and was sent 60 miles into Boston for treatment. That is how I came to know Dr. Abdeen. She is thorough, honest, professional, and very caring. I'm having hip reimplantation with Dr Abdeen on the 12th of july. I have every faith that this time there won't be any complications.
