Dr Lend is a skilled surgeon and compassionate man. He's done almost 3,000 gallbladder removal surgeries. He prayed with me before the surgery because even though I really wanted my gallbladder removed, I was scared. It's the first major surgery I have had. 5 months on, and my abdomen is healing nicely and my pain is gone. I find myself wishing that I could find someone just like him in other specialty areas of medicine. Thank you, Dr Lehr.

Was told I was going to die by a Hospitalist at a rural hospital. At my request, I was transferred to Research hospital where Dr. Lehr removed my gallbladder. Prior to surgery he explained the procedure and put me at ease, assuring me he and staff would take good care of me. Dr. Lehr is a skilled surgeon with an excellent bedside manner. I could not have asked for a better outcome!

Dr Lehr and nurses were AMAZING The only that needs to change is communication with the family that is waiting on the patient/ family member receiving the care. My mom was my driver and in the front lobby waiting for me with my daughter. She just wanted to know basic information such as, was I, the patient, in/out of surgery bc it took longer than expected wanted a concept of time. She was told to go to the waiting room and ask, but was told she couldn't bc she had my daughter with her. No one would check or ask for her and it was basic info that she wanted to know and no one help her or tell her anything ??Just need better communication from front desk for ppl that are waiting for their family member to get in/out of surgery. Asa patient, I was very upset to hear that after getting out of surgery. My mom should have been treated with respect and was not. She only wanted to have simple info and to make sure everything was ok and why was no one keeping her informed on her daughter, me.

Dr. Lehr is very personable and took the time to thoroughly explain the procedure to me. He even drew diagrams one more than one occasion so that his explanations were more clear. Before surgery, he took the time to pray for a successful result. As a Christian, I was truly impressed.

Evaluated for a hernia, but I was also observed by Dr. Lehr to have a fat belly that didn’t match my body frame. I forgot to mention that my family has a problem with obesity. My brother and I have largely been able to escape that. However, inactivity after being retired five years, in my mind, may have contributed. At any an iodine contrast Catscan was performed and results pending.

My mother was under Dr. Lehrs care for 7 months & was very ill.His PA told us "he is her surgeon & won't discuss Hospice Care". SS set up a meeting with another doctor who spoke with Lehr extensively. My sister & I wanted Lehr to discuss with us.How cowardly of him to hide behind his surgeons mask.I worked in healthcare for 20+ years and never has a physician been so cavalier about his patients or their family. He should of gave us the same courtesy as we gave him.Not even a phone call from him!
