Great Doctor
Dr. Kalava is patient, listens well, knows his specialty. I was referred by my vascular surgeon to treat a very specific issue and after years of being bounced around specialists and doctors; Dr. Kalava worked directly with my surgeon to provide a non surgical procedure that has provided relief in my neck, shoulder, and arm. He is respectful, yet direct, he wants to make sure you understand what is going to happen.

Dr and staff are very friendly and helpful. Treatment was painless and worked great for almost 48 hours. Pray that my pain free time gets extended by future visits as it's nice to walk again. On the downside, the office is downtown without it's own parking. Unable to walk my wife had to push me across the garage to the elevators, down the street. The opposite side of the street had no handicap access resulting in me having to grab hold of parking meter while my wife lifted the wheel chair over the curb. To get into the office, my wife had to push me up a two level ramp. Hopefully the treatments work, so I can walk again and help the wife around the house again to show my thanks for all she is doing.

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone! I took my mother for her appointment as she has has been in severe pain due and was in shock with the dismissive and lack of compassion he showed her. Instead of saying he could not help her or giving her another referral to someone who could help her he left her more hopeless than she originally was.

I've been to a handful of Central Florida "pain management" offices but Dr. Kavala's practice is a very special place indeed. You'll know you're in an entirely different setting than you're used to from the moment you walk through the door. Everything is open, inviting, and even a bit luxurious. Dr. Kavala trained at the Mayo Clinic and offers a range of treatment options many others do not. He takes his time making a diagnosis and was willing to treat on the first visit. I'm confident he can help find and "fix" the source of my pain. Excellent, excellent practice.

I had given up having been told by several hospitals that they could not help me or provide me with an appointment to address my genetic connective tissue disorder. I have suffered from an incredible amount of pain and have been unable to find any treatment or doctor in my area after years of searching and being turned away I had given up. I was not depressed as I understood and had a situation that would cause anyone to feel the way I did but after being contacted by Mayo in Jax after two years of waiting to only be told they didn't foresee having any upcoming appointments I cried and truly gave up. When I told me friend who also has Ehler Danlos Syndrome she told me about Dr. Kalava. I have found my obi one and I am still in shock that he is going to be able to help me when so many had told me there was nothing they could do to help my pain. Because of my mast cell activation syndrome I am allergic to almost every medication and was not looking for opiates but getting my life back.

This man is an outstanding physician. After going through four months of pathology and nerve related pain from my left knee to my left foot with no pain relief from my Orthopedic or pain management doctors procedures, my pain management doctor referred me to Dr. Kalava. Dr. Kalava knew exactly what he wanted to take place under his care and now that I am in week two of a four to six week procedure program, I am actually beginning to feel no pathology or nerve related pain. I know I have about four more weeks of procedures and I am looking forward to each one. Dr. Kalava does not believe in pain medication and, neither do I. His procedures show results and, I am so looking forward to returning to my active lifestyle and Dr. Kalava is the man to make it happen. I would encourage anyone living with pain to make an appointment with Dr. Kalava as soon as you can.

Dr. Kalava was the first medical professional to address the source of my pain. He listened, showed me a diagram and explained the procedure to me. He is a brilliant and compassionate man. A rare combination these days. His team members were just as great. Thank you so much Dr. Kalava for helping me!

Breaktrhu Acute Pain Management and Ketamine Therapy has been a lifesaver for me in trying to find a treatment for an end to my trigeminal neuralgia and migraine pain. Dr. Kalava has done everything in his power to assist me; he has facilitated colleagues and helped with getting appointments with other treatments, made phone calls to other medical clinics to find treatment options and has guided me through the maze of other treatment options available. And he has done this all through this turbulent time of co-vid 19, when other doctors were even refusing to even see me. Dr. Kalava is extremely knowledgeable and caring. His office staff is efficient, caring and patient. This is truly a remarkable place of healing.
