This content was provided by Dr. Delahoussaye IV "A. J. dela Houssaye, M.D., known as "Dr. D" to his patients, is the medical director of SEECA and specializes in Premium Lens Cataract Surgery and Refractive Surgery including LASIK and PRK starting at $699 per eye. In 1997, Dr. D was the first resident at Ochsner to perform Clear Cornea Cataract Surgery, the advanced technique used during the ReZoom Cataract Procedure. Since that time, Dr. D has made numerous improvements in the technique, making him one of the most proficient cataract surgeons in the world. Dr. D invented and patented the "Laser Guided True Scan", a device that dramatically improves the calculated lens power in ReZoom Cataract Surgery. Dr. D invented and copyrighted a computerized medical software program called SEECA EMR. This technology increases Dr. D's access to valuable information in the operating room, which improves the safety of the ReZoom Cataract Procedure. Dr. D earned a Bachelors Degree from Louisiana State University while on the Chancellor's Scholarship and attended Harvard. He then attended LSU Medical School on a Board of Supervisors Scholarship and graduated with Honors. Dr. D's research publications have appeared in "Life Science Journal" and he won the LSU Research Award. Dr. D completed a 4-year Ophthalmology residency program at Ochsner in New Orleans where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. D is a Board Certified Surgeon in Ophthalmology and is a member of numerous medical societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the Louisiana State Medical Society.
