Why my mom likes Dr. Vera, I have no idea. We have been going to his offices for treatment of her diabetes for over three years, and he has yet to recognize her or remember her name once. If we only saw him once a year, that might be one thing, but even then, would it be so hard to read her name off of the chart instead of going through the whole rigamarole of introducing himself again and reciting - again and again - his philosophy of health care. It leaves me with very little faith in him.

Vera blows all kinds of smoke when you first see him leaving you hopeful you have found competent help but you soon learn reality is different. First appointment took an act of congress to set up, and worked as well. Appointments canceled and pushed to different Jr doctor, Drs unprepared for office visits without docs, took 9 months to get scripts right, billing sent to collections a year later for what was paid in office. Lots of expensive test that results are ignored. end result, terrible!

Worst office staff going. They're nice but due to office procedures, they DO NOT DO WHAT THEY SAY, they ALREADY DID. I was told more than once or twice, three times even that they had called Quest for me and corrected a Diagnostics Code. DID NOT HAPPEN. Cost me almost $300.

Worst staff ever! Got my name and phone number wrong. Lost my tests. Impossible to get an appointment. Will follow through since I have so much time invested now, but don't recommend this office.

This was with out a doubt the worst experience with a Doctors office I have ever had. I went to Dr Vera saw him one time where he ordered several test, some of which were preformed in his office, and told be to come back in a few weeks, this was in October of 2016. My appointments have been canceled 3 times by his office with every excuse in the book. I went in on my own and demanded copies of all the test he ordered and I'm in the process of trying to find another Endocrinologist.

Worst office ever take all kind of blood work and never go over it with patients mess up appointments then reschedule then call hour before asking if you can come later in the day . even when you ask about your blood work one dr. tell you the other dr. have not had time to go over it yet in almost 2 months wow

Doctors are good, however, office is chaos. Wait at least an hour to be seen. Nurse sent wrong RX to pharmacy which took 4 days to fix. She did not document that I needed to see a neurologist per Dr Vera so no neurologist would give me an appt. Still trying to resolve this 2 weeks later after having called twice, faxing, emailing and stopping in the office to sign a release. I want to go elsewhere but they won't follow through on sending records even with a release signed. Don't do it.

I HAVE SEEN DR. V FOR 20 YEARS I LIKE HIM VERY MUCJ. HE IS A WARM AND CARING PERSON. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE.
in Deland, FL |
Office is horrible. Long waits and staff is too busy to explain things. Dr Vera is paternalistic and makes decisions for you without explaining options. For example, I asked him why I could not just have the surgery for my thyroid (National Institutes of Health recommends surgery in cases like mine regardless of biopsy results) instead of having these painful biopsies over and over, and he said I did not want to have a scar, tracing his finger across my neck. No respect for patient intelligence.
Boston, MA |
The staff is not very efficient. They call to confirm an appointment I showed up on time, but found out later the appoint time is wrong and ended up waiting for 1.5 hours with not explanation as to why. The staff does not call back. can't find doctors instructions. unwilling to help. They would not even call the pharmacy back to come up with a solution. Either they need more help or a staff that is trained better. The doctor may be committed to the patient but the staff is not.

Dr. Vera is a very thorough doctor. He takes time with his patients and askes your opinion of why you are there, and what you would like as the outcome of his care. Dr. Vera is very direct about his approach to my care, and exactly what he saw as some of the life changes I needed to make in order to achieve success. He then ordered several tests to see exactly what my medical issues were. Dr. Vera does not candy coat anything. If you want a doctor who does, he may not be the dr. for you.
in Ormond Beach, FL |
I find him to be self righteous, condescending, egotistical and dismissive of my symptoms. A sorry excuse for a doctor!
in Deland, FL |
Dr.V is a very caring, extremely thorough doctor. He took the time need to properly diagnose my problem and is currently fixing me. If I have a problem he makes sure I'm seen right away.
Ormond Beach, FL |
Very poor response time to emails or phone requests - two weeks or more two different times. Once for clarification on medicine regime, once for a bloodwork order. Staff seems disorganized.
