Dr Chung saved my life! I had stage II cancer. After finishing chemo and radiation, he performed a esophagectomy (removed esophagus and part of stomach) surgery. I had no major complications. Before deciding to select him as my surgeon, my husband and I met with him a couple times. I immediately trusted him and had confidence in him! He is very personable and likable! It has been two months since my surgery and I am making excellent progress recovering from the complicated surgery! Caroline

Had lung cancer and Dr. Chung removed a lobe -- stage 1 and am on a 6mo. Ct scan screening program. Dr. Chung did a fabulous surgery for me and I am so very glad I had him do it.

Most compassionate Doctor ever. Explains things in a way to make complicated things.understandable. Very skilled and talented.. My wife told him that she loved him after her lobectomy.

Worst doctor in Las Vegas, no experience in esophageal cancer surgery. My mother passed and prior to passing requested numerous times alternative option for feeding he said nothing much was left to do then accept chemo. In his mind my mother was suppose to proceed with chemo while starving. We later found out by him "she was 4th esophageal cancer patient he operated" research doctors and find someone with a lot more experience he's ALWAYS IN EMERGENCY SURGERIES expect to be rescheduled A LOT!

I had the HORRIBLE experience of meeting with Dr. Chung, when my father, Allen, was at Mountain View Hospital on N. Tenaya in Las Vegas, From Dec. 5th-Dec.18, 2013, when my father of 93 yrs of age, a WW2 VETERAN, and fought in Normandy on Omaha Beach and helped to SAVE Americans from Hitler destroying America. My dad had Pneumonia. The Dr. would NEVER DISCLOSE Medical Information to me(re:the 'Date' that my dad's 'Left Lung' Collapsed!! Been trying for 2yrs to NO AVAIL!!! My dad died Dec.19'13!!

    Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

    Dr. Chung's Care Philosophy

The Cardiac Surgery Program at MountainView Hospital is focused on maximizing continuity of care by providing an individualized, unique patient experience. As a primary care physician, you know your patients better than anyone else. Therefore, it is our mission to involve you in their inpatient care at every step along the way. From the Operating Room to the dedicated Cardiac ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), our cardiac nurses are specially trained and have successfully completed a rigorous course that includes several proctored cases. In addition, we offer increased staffing in both the Cardiac ICU and PCU. Your patient will receive 1:1 nursing care for up to 24 hours while in the Cardiac ICU. Once they are downgraded to the PCU, they receive 3:1 nursing care.
