Dr. Antonia Kolesnikova specializes in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology. She is a nephrologist with training in diagnosis, management, and treatment of conditions of the urinary tract who manages conditions like kidney failure. Dr. Kolesnikova received her medical education at Russian State Medical University in Moscow, Russia, from which she graduated in 1996. After emigrating to the United States, she completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Washington Hospital Center/Georgetown University Hospital, graduating in 2007. She then completed a fellowship in nephrology at the same institution, graduating in 2009. This fellowship was an extended period of specialized training, which is required to become a nephrologist and to provide top quality care. Dr. Kolesnikova holds board certifications in two specialties. Double certification is slightly unusual, as most physicians are certified in only one specialty. She is certified in Internal Medicine and in Nephrology, both through the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Kolesnikova is affiliated with Providence Hospital and Medstar Washington Hospital Center, both in Washington, D.C.
