Dr. Anthony Unger repaired a torn tendon in my shoulder. I was asked to pay part of the bill minutes after I woke up from surgery. I received a bill from WOSM for the remainder of the charge. Then: i) I unexpectedly received a bill from Unger. WOSM’s billing department plays very tough and I ended up paying Unger thousands of dollars out of pocket. ii) He spent little time with me after surgery. He had prescribed pain medicine and when I saw him a few days later, I asked how many pills I could take. While talking to a colleague, he casually said: no more than 8 or 9 a day. I saw another doctor days later and he told me to stop right away as the pills were very strong and addictive. He was angry and said what Unger said amounted to malpractice. iii) Though he should have, Unger never told me I had a metal piece in the bone where the tendon is attached. (Not knowing doesn’t help to go through airport security).

I had a hip replacement. The surgery went well. But since then, I have had repeated problems. Often, the slightest can cause extreme pain in my thigh and eventual severe bruising. I saw Dr. Unger again. He took an X-Ray and pronounced himself satisfied with his work. Subsequently, I underwent additional physical therapy, at the suggestion of my GP, but it didn't improve matters. I believe that the initial surgery damaged my thigh muscles and I will never be rid of these recurring problems.

Blaming post-op pain on the patient. Very little time spent caring for the patient after surgery is over.

I have always found the doctors at WOSM to be great. The wait times are short, scheduling is easy, and above all, the physicians take the time to walk through the diagnosis and the best course of treatment. I would highly recommend Dr. Unger.

I am extremely grateful to have had Dr. Unger as my surgeon. He performed anterior total hip replacements on my left hip (2015) and right hip (2016). He was professional, knowledgeable and patient in explaining the surgery and answering my questions. His competence resulted in my having successful surgeries and uneventful (and quick) recoveries. His team (Alex and Ashley) were also outstanding. I would and have recommended Dr. Unger to all whom I know who are considering this type of surgery.

Dr. Unger replaced my right hip 2 years ago and it feels as if nothing has happened to my hip. I can perform any normal and sport activities, ignoring that I have a replaced hip. I have resumed horseback riding. Perfect job!
