I cannot say he is not a good surgeon, but his care for a patient after surgery is poor. My dad could not walk after his hip surgery and Dr. Skalak really did not care. After thousands of dollars in tests, he concluded nothing. He gave no information on what they test results said. He did not recommend physical therapy, chiropractic care, acupuncture or anything physical medicine to restore his ability to walk; Not even home exercise. He just told him to come get a shot if he needed.

The worst experience that I have ever had with a physician. Dr. Skalak was very rude and uncaring during visits following surgery. His surgical skills may be good but anyone with the personality traits he displays has no business practicing medicine. When I complained I was told that he was having personal problems. His discourteous attitude is mimicked by many members of the office and nursing staffs of Orthopaedics East. They seem to be a very unhappy bunch.
