Dr. Hinz is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with expertise in foot and ankle disorders and volumes of experience in trauma. He incorporates a comprehensive approach to prevention, treatment and management of orthopedic injuries including conservative options such as custom made orthotics, bracing, physical therapy and surgery when needed. Dr. Hinz was a running back for the New England Patriots, until a severe knee injury his first year derailed his professional sports ambitions and awakened an interest in sports medicine. Born in Minneapolis, Dr. Hinz took his BS degree from Harvard University and moved to the Pacific Northwest to obtain his medical degree at the University of Washington. Dr. Hinz completed his surgical residency, at the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine in Dallas. He then returned to the University of Washington/Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for his foot and ankle fellowship. He joined The Center's team of expert physicians in 1999.
