Dr Nigam is an amazing surgeon. I came to see him after experiencing severe complications after undergoing multiple surgeries for GI cancer. He took the time to thoroughly research my case. Understand my complex anatomy. And then developed a surgical plan. I’ve had many surgeries performed by him. And he prides himself on making sure patients have accurate information, knows all of the risks and benefits to a surgery, and then makes a plan WITH the patient that they are both comfortable with. Dr Nigam is never misleading about outcomes. He’s honest and forthright with all his patients. And ensures that they are well cared for throughout, and long after, their surgeries. There is no other surgeon I trust more in all of the Capitol Region. I highly recommend him. And will forever be thankful to him for helping me by repairing damage previous surgeons had done to me. He’s very compassion, honest, funny and well educated.

This doctor Sucks! Doesn't read the patients chart, just goes in an ad-libs off the top of his head. Wants to get the appointment over with so he can go back to doing whatever. He scared my daughter in law to death. HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED!!!! His staff cannot even draw blood. My daughter in law just had a terrible experience with him and his staff. I am turning him in to the AMA, and Albany Med.

I met with Dr. Nigam after several other GIs had been confounded with my condition. Dr. Nigam was very thorough and caring. He didn't just look at the surface of my health and the easy out. After my gallbladder was removed, he was very thorough in the hospital afterwards and answered all of my questions. I know 2 others whose lives were saved by him. Very skilled and friendly bedside manner.

Talented surgeon with a gentle sense of humor. He did a liver resection and removal of gall bladder on me, and managed my post-op pain so well that I went home with NO painkillers. Since Albany Med is a teaching hospital, he was always trailed by his "minions", and you could see that they revere him.
