30 min after being put in a exam room. I went to the desk to remind the staff i was there. Staff said, "Oh, let her know", as if it was a suprise I was still in the office. 45 min later the doctor walks in, no explanation, no apology. I don't appriciate people wasting my time. It was recommended I take a specific supplement. I was given a "coupon" and told I could only get the supplement from this company and its only available online. Interestingly, the doctor told the receptionist to make sure she makes a copy of the "coupon" (which had a code stamped on it) and put it in my chart. Seems a little shady to me.

Had a followup visit today with Dr. Anika Ackerman. It was a repeat of my first new patient visit 6 months ago. Dr. Ackerman was very professional, knowledgeable and took her time to review my medical history and answer all my questions. The medical assistants were professional and knowledgeable as well. The receptionists were friendly, helpful and efficient. I continue to be impressed with the office atmosphere, organization and cleanliness. I highly recommend Dr Ackerman, her staff and Garden State Urology.

The biopsy that I feared was "a piece of cake". Only after effect was a slight ache in that area which pain medication took care of with 2 pills. Recovered in 1 day. FEAR NOT AND GO FOR IT!!

Found Dr Ackerman to be very dismissive. Also on every appointment with her she is constantly pushing me to get treatment at her med spa. She’s just interested in getting $$$ from her medspa and not interested in patients best interest.

Had a surgery with Dr. Ackerman in March. I was very nervous going into it but Dr. Ackerman explained everything that would be done in an easy and understandable manner. Overall I had an amazing experience with her as my doctor. I have recommended her to friends and family in the area and others have the same positive impression that I came away with. Highly recommend!

Would not recommend Dr. Ackerman for several reasons. I was having surgery for kidney stones. My daughter is a doctor and contacted Dr. Ackerman before the surgery to clarify a few things. She never returned the call. I never saw the doctor BEFORE or AFTER the surgery. She never sent any of the stone debris to the lab to be analyzed to determine what the stones were made up from. It took four months and several phone calls to get a summary of what she did in the operation. She May be a competent technician, but she has no bedside manner and I believe she is only interested in volume not in patients

I saw Dr. Ackerman as a second opinion because my primary told me how great she was! The urologist that I saw before Dr. Ackerman recommended surgery for me that I ended up not needing. Dr. Ackerman actually diagnosed me with a completely different problem after all of the workup she did. I trust her now so much and she explains everything to me and takes her time, not like the other doctors I've seen.
