Dr. Jones' bio
This content was provided by Dr. Jones "I am a hand and orthopedic surgeon, specialized in treatment of painful musculoskeletal problems that affect children, adults and the elderly. "
This content was provided by Dr. Jones "Arthritis, trauma, overuse, and idiopathic factors can all produce aches and pains that prevent you from doing your activities and enjoying quality of life. I enjoy working together to fix these problems and return you back to your activities, healthy, happy and pain-free.
The treatment of many problems hinges on diagnosis, which starts with you, the patient. I value your history and physical exam and may recommend an X-ray or imaging study to help figure out what's going on.
Usually, conservative treatment is recommended first, such as an injection, splint/ brace, or a physical or hand therapy regimen. These modalities can improve many musculoskeletal problems.
Some conditions are best treated surgically, so that may be part of our discussion as well. I try to exhaust appropriate non-operative treatment and then proceed to surgery, although some problems simply require surgery. I strive to explain how my training and education has led me to these recommendations and may give several options or stick to one recommended choice if I feel it is clearly superior."
