Dr. Jones' Care Philosophy

Arthritis, trauma, overuse, and idiopathic factors can all produce aches and pains that prevent you from doing your activities and enjoying quality of life. I enjoy working together to fix these problems and return you back to your activities, healthy, happy and pain-free. The treatment of many problems hinges on diagnosis, which starts with you, the patient. I value your history and physical exam and may recommend an X-ray or imaging study to help figure out what's going on. Usually, conservative treatment is recommended first, such as an injection, splint/ brace, or a physical or hand therapy regimen. These modalities can improve many musculoskeletal problems. Some conditions are best treated surgically, so that may be part of our discussion as well. I try to exhaust appropriate non-operative treatment and then proceed to surgery, although some problems simply require surgery. I strive to explain how my training and education has led me to these recommendations and may give several options or stick to one recommended choice if I feel it is clearly superior.

As good of an experience as going to the doctor can be.
My partner severed her thumb this summer, and Dr. Jones was her surgeon. In the 10 weeks and two successful surgeries since the accident, Dr. Jones has been a consummate professional: skilled, attentive, available and kind.

I completed training in orthopedic surgery and then took a hand surgery fellowship, allowing me to understand and treat general musculoskeletal conditions, as well as the unique problems present in the hand and upper extremity.

I have been in practice for 7 years after fellowship.  While your painful finger or numb hand is unique and upsetting to you, I see these complaints on a daily basis and feel very comfortable offering you diagnosis and treatment for these problems.

My patient population over the years has been quite varied and included all ages.  As a mom, I do see children and  enjoy these special patients within my practice.  Occasionally, referral to a pediatric orthopedic surgeon is necessary, particularly for congenital conditions, but I can help direct parents to several in the area whom I know.

I do also see workers' compensation patients and strive to fix the work-related orthopaedic problems and return patients to being productive workers as soon as possible.

I enjoy operative treatment of bony and soft tissue problems in the hand and upper extremity as well as a variety of other orthopedic procedures.  Some examples of these procedures that I have been trained in and performed regularly are:

Open and endoscopic carpal tunnel release

Trigger finger and tendonitis surgeries

Dupuytren's injection and surgical treatment

Surgical treatment of fractures in the elbow, forearm, wrist, hand and fingers, as well as the toes, metatarsals and ankle

Nail and nailbed surgeries

Peripheral nerve surgeries

Knee and shoulder arthroscopy; rotator cuff repair

Excision if benign soft tissue tumors from the limbs

***If you don't see your procedure on here, just ask about my training and experience with it; this list is not exhaustive by any means.
