      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

      Dr. Siegel's Care Philosophy

I am passionate about lifestyle as a means for patients remaining healthy and fit. I emphasize responsible eating, regular exercise, sufficient sleep and avoidance of excessive stress and abuse of food, alcohol, tobacco, etc. I strongly believe that my role is to help educate patients so that they can make informed decisions. I believe in trying simple solutions before attempting complex ones and if it isn't broken, not trying to fix it. I live by the rule "first do no harm."

      Dr. Siegel says...

Although I practice all aspects of urology, I have special training in voiding dysfunction, female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. After the completion of my urology training at the University of Pennsylvania, I spent a year at UCLA undertaking a fellowship in this sub-specialty of urology, which has been a focus for over 25 years. I am board-certified in this sub-specialty in addition to being board-certified in general urology.

Voiding dysfunction encompasses a wide range of urinary issues in both genders ranging from difficulty emptying one's bladder, to bladder control issues, to the complete inability to empty the bladder at all. Many women have problems such as recurrent urinary tract infections, stress urinary incontinence (leakage with sneezing, coughing, exercise and other physical activities) and pelvic organ prolapse (the descent of one or more of the pelvic organs into the space of the vagina and sometimes outside the vagina).

      Dr. Siegel says...

I perform the following procedures on a frequent basis: cystoscopy; prostate ultrasound and biopsy; laser prostatectomy; prostate and bladder tumor surgery; vasectomy; mid-urethral sling for stress urinary incontinence; pelvic reconstruction for pelvic organ prolapse; iinflatable penile prosthesis implant for erectile dysfunction and artificial urinary sphincter implant for incontinence. The great majority of procedures that I perform are on an outpatient basis.
