Dr. Shinar performed a total hip replacement on my right side in 2013 that I was extremely satisfied with, so I didn’t hesitate to make an appointment with him when my other hip began to give me problems. After months of trying to manage the pain, Dr. Shinar performed a total hip replacement on my left side. I feel like recovery has been faster and easier than the first surgery with no complications. I couldn't be happier with the results, and look forward to returning to normal activities.

After being told that I was too young for a hip replacement, I sought a second opinion in Nashville… and I’m grateful I did. Dr. Shinar evaluated my pain and lack of mobility, and recommended a total hip replacement. I had no complications, the incision healed nicely, and recovery went better than I ever imagined. Four years after surgery, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I’d also like to add that Dr. Shinar is one of the nicest doctors I’ve been to in a long, long time.

Told by local orthopedics in Huntsville that there was nothing they could do, Dr Shinar was shocked at what they said, and he went right after working to fix the issue. That, and the fine quality of Vanderbilt as compared to Huntsville and Crestwood hospitals was amazing.

He is great. I had 6 doctors tell me (B'ham, AL) that they could not help me. Dr. Shinar gave me a 2nd chance. If I had done as suggested by my B'ham doctor, I would not have been able to walk or could have lost my leg. B'ham doctor told me to go home and hope it fixed itself. I walk now without any assistance. I do not limp nor have pain. I say again, he is great. He was God. I thank God every day for Dr. Shinar.
