Our son had a weekend emergency surgery on a dislocated thumb that no ER doctors could get back into place. He reviewed all options for treatment and started small before escalating the issue and was able to make a minimal treatment in the surgery. Great communication.

My daughter shattered her knee cap and had two surgeries by Dr. Pytiak in 2020.The first surgery was a knee cap reconstruction that had to be performed 2 months after the incident because the hospitals shut down for “elective” surgeries during COVID 2020. Dr. Pytiak had to deal with removing the pieces of bone/cartilage that tried to absorb back into her body over the 2 month delay and then he reconstructed the knee cap with a cadaver bone graft. The second surgery, one month later, was an MPFL reconstruction. Dr. Pytiak was an amazing surgeon and made my 13-year-old daughter feel reassured and comfortable through this very unfortunate experience. 7 months after the first surgery, my daughter has been released from PT for all of her athletic activities included competitive volleyball, running, & swimming. We are very grateful for Dr. Pytiak’s ability to do this kind of work. RM Pediatric Ortho One office was wonderful & very supportive through the many appts we had during COVID 2020.

Dr. Pytiak performed our daughter's torn ACL and meniscus repair surgery. I cannot recommend him due to the complete lack of care from him and his office after the surgery. My 11 year old was in severe pain and suffering from nausea from the pain medication, but did his office call to check on her? No! They NEVER called to check on her post surgery; the first contact we had with his office was the two week post surgery check-up. Dr. Pytiak seems only to care about his patients until the moment the surgery is over and he's collected his check. After that, he's done with you!

Dr Pytiak repaired my daughter’s torn labrum from a sports injury. He was great with her, took time to explain all our options including non-surgical options. In the end we decided surgery was the best option and she’s fully recovered doing the sport she loves.

Dr. Pytiak performed two surgeries on my daughter, one for knee cap reconstruction and the other for MPFL repair. We felt comfortable immediately with him. He explained everything to her and treated her FIRST and then made sure we understood everything that was happening. He was thorough in all his follow ups. I hope we never need to use him again, but if we do, I wouldn't hesitate to have him treat any of my kids. I highly recommend Dr. Pytiak! He made a very scary incident for my twelve year old (and her parents) manageable.

Our teenage daughter injured her knee and needed extensive knee surgery a year ago. She is on the autism spectrum, so it was particularly traumatic for her, and worrisome for us. Dr. Pytiak and Zacc Ivy were fantastic...they explained the surgery in a way she would understand, patiently answered all of her questions, and made sure she was okay with every detail. Her follow-up care has been just as first-rate. We had the list of recommended physical therapists in advance, so we were able to set up her appointments, and the staff made sure we had all of our follow-up visits scheduled. Dr. Pytiak has never been in a rush and always takes the time to explain everything. He is a highly skilled surgeon, but also a kind and compassionate doctor...just what you want for your child. We highly recommend Dr. Pytiak!

We switched doctors to find Dr. Pytiak. He is a great surgeon and did a fabulous job during surgery. I would give him a 5. However, the communication, or lack thereof, after my son's surgery has not been good at all. His office didn't even call to check on his afterward, even tho he unexpectedly had to stay overnight because of a bad reaction to anesthesia. They didn't tell me about lining up pt appts way in advance. When I tried to get in with their recommended list of therapists, they were all about 3 weeks out. I literally met the doctor right before surgery and have yet to see him again, have only seen and talked to the pa. Is this normal?? I know that the doctor, and his staff, goes thru NUMEROUS kids a week. I get it. But I have one child and I want them to take it a little more seriously. Just highly disappointed after a great surgery that was a little uncommon.

We came to Dr. Pytiak for a second opinion for my son's shoulder. Originally, he was told it was bursitis and he could control it with exercise. After seeing Dr. Pytiak, he definitely confirmed he had a torn labrum and was willing to do the surgery! This was the best move for Craig after not being able to fully use his arm for over a year. Thank you Dr. Pytiak for doing such an amazing job in repairing Craig back to his original state to go and become active again! Dr. Pytiak used down to earth terms in explaining his procedures and made us feel totally secure! Thanks again!

My 3 year old broke his left arm during the summer. Dr. Pytiak and his staff took care of him and did a great job. At first my son was a little scared to have xrays or even the doctor touching his arm. Dr Pytiak and staff were very patient and caring of my little boy and during the follow up appointments my son was looking forward to see Dr Pytiak and having “photos” taken of his arm. I also want to mentioned that my son had surgery and the before and after care from Dr Pytiak was outstanding!

Dr Pytiak made what was a difficult situation as stress free as possible. From our initial interaction, we were put at ease as he was friendly, clearly explained what was going on, and how he reached his diagnosis. He then took time to describe his recommended course of treatment, going through all pros and cons and potential outcomes. What impressed me most, he took time to speak to my young son directly, telling him what was happening, and what the plan of action was. Highly recommended!
