He performed a breast node dissection and tumor removal surgery in December 2011 and did a great job. I had a mastectomy back in 2005 by another surgeon but the cancer came back as a tumor on my mastectomy scar 6 1/2 years later. Dr Higgins is one of the best surgeons I've ever had and feel lucky he's one of my cancer doctors. He also implanted a port for my chemotherapy and later removed it once the chemo was finished. He's extremely conscientious, skilled and thoughtful, his staff is great too!

      Why Does Experience Matter?

Even specialists specialize. One orthopedic surgeon might do nothing but hip surgeries, while another does nothing but knees. If you want the best possible care, it’s critical to match your medical need with the doctor who truly specializes in treating it.

      Dr. Higgins' Care Philosophy

I hold two guiding principles in my surgical practice. First, I am treating a human being. Second, I take into account the whole person I am treating. Treating you is a privilege I do not take lightly. You are entrusting me to care for you and I will do so with the highest degree of respect and dignity. I look at each person as more than just a case, a disease, a problem or just a billing opportunity. I treat people as I would want to be treated if I were the patient.
