I love the interaction with patients – learning about them, helping diagnose and treat their gastroenterology and liver medical problems. I enjoy performing procedures and solving complex problems as well as blending gastroenterology and internal medicine. I strive to give personalized, professional care for each patient to ensure they get the best results.
My father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer when I was training in internal medicine. He is now a survivor. His diagnosis and treatment gave me the motivation to study gastroenterology and to help others the same way his gastroenterologist saved his life. I really value practicing preventive medicine. Performing quality colonoscopy is satisfying, as this procedure can prevent or diagnose the second-most common cancer in men and women. I'm also interested in the diagnosis and treatment of liver disease. Current liver treatment strategies are curing many liver problems that were previously terminal, and I find this very rewarding.
