Dr. Anastasia Fischer is a native of Wisconsin who moved to New Orleans in 1997. Completed internships in both Psychiatry and Internal Medicine at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. She is also fellowship trained in Neuromuscular diseases and clinical neurophysiology, giving her expertise in the performance and interpretation of EMG and nerve conduction studies. In addition to her expertise in these areas, Dr. Fischer enjoys practicing general neurology as well. She is currently accepting new patients.
"Neurology is a field that creates problems, very generally speaking, of two types. There are my patients with obvious disabilities – paralysis, using wheelchairs and walkers, atypical speech, cognitive problems etc. Then there are the people who appear to be normal but have equally challenging problems affecting their daily lives. I am proud to have the knowledge and expertise to diagnose both types of problems. I am honored to be able to help my patients truly understand what is going on with their bodies and help them cope to the best of their abilities. It is also important to me to educate their family, loved ones and friends to help foster a strong support network."
