Board certification should be one of your top considerations when choosing a doctor. Board certification is an official recognition given to doctors who have met specific requirements set by national medical specialty boards in the United States.
Board certification indicates that a doctor is highly qualified in the medical field in which he or she practices. A board-certified doctor is more likely than a non-board-certified doctor to have the most current skills and knowledge about how to treat your medical condition.
Obstetrics & Gynecology
Dr. Keatts has been trained in all aspects of general obstetrics and gynecology. She is able to provide all the currently available forms of contraception and hysteroscopic sterilization (no-incision technique). She supports patients who prefer natural family planning methods. She is skilled at providing alternatives to hysterectomy and laparoscopic surgery. When a hysterectomy is indicated, her preference is the vaginal route because this is the least invasive procedure with the lowest risks. When a vaginal hysterectomy is not feasible, Dr. Keatts performs the laparoscopic assisted or open hysterectomy. When robotic surgery is indicated, Dr. Keatts will partner with a surgeon who can provide this and make a referral.
