This content was provided by Dr. Shrikhande "Dr Allyson Shrikhande, a board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist, is the Vice Chair of the Medical Education Committee for the International Pelvic Pain Society. She is working with other experts in the field of chronic pelvic pain to develop training modules for residents and physicians interested in learning about the diagnosis, treatment and management of chronic pelvic pain. A leading expert on pelvic health and a respected researcher, author and lecturer, Dr. Shrikhande is a recognized authority on male and female pelvic pain diagnosis and treatment. Formerly affiliated with Weill Cornell, Dr. Shrikhande helped to found the Weill Cornell Medical Center Women's Health Musculoskeletal Outpatient Clinic and she is the founder of Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. She received her training at: The Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland Medical School Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School NYU Langone Medical Center/RUSK Institute Dr. Shrikhande is passionate about this cause and dedicated to helping men and women with pelvic pain who often suffer without anyone willing to listen, understand or find the cause of their pain. That's why she has traveled the world to work with expert gynecologists, urologists, physiatrists and interventional pain physicians."

Spends barely any time listening or examining you, she just wants to give you injections because they are expensive. Prescribed a totally unnecessary dangerous medication to me after barely investigating the cause of my pain. Other doctors told me to not take the medication she gave.

Told me I had "pelvic floor" problems when my symptoms were not associated with pelvic floor problems. She then gave me a series of totally useless injections into the pelvic floor. Dr made a significant misdiagnosis that has resulted in an intractable pain condition that was not there prior to seeing her. Dr is extremely arrogant. I found Dr. Shrikhande to be technically excellent and quite pleasant. She listened, answered questions, and took a sufficient amount of time to diagnose my issue. She is certainly a super-expert on pelvic issues and did a great job in her diagnosis. However, you must be willing to deal with her...more
