He attended DePauw University, were a knee injury pushed him out of collegiate football; his focused strengthened in regards to his pre-medical studies. He completed a BA in Biology graduating from DePauw in 1990. Summer during college were spent at the Methodist Sports Medicine Institute, where he worked with orthopaedic surgeons focusing on research that would lead to accelerated and improved outcome studies. "

He undertook a complicated left hip revision other doctors did not want attempt and he did so with no complcations and complete recovery. You won't find better in terms of skill and patient care.
