Care Philosophy

I have chosen to direct my efforts as a physician toward improving the quality of life for women who are dealing with pelvic floor disorders. I focus on listening to a patient's description of her symptoms and their impact on her her goals for treatment and by using evidence-based techniques I evaluate her condition. Treatment options might vary from patient to patient; the best way to proceed is often an individualized decision. I am pleased to have been a member of the Duke faculty since 1996. Our division is nationally recognized as offering the best possible urogynecologic care with a full range of approaches to suit any patient.Read more

I only met Dr. Weidner once for a consult, but I thought she was wonderful. Very personable, listened well, explained things clearly. My regular gynecologist who I love said Dr. Weidner has an excellent reputation among her peers too. I can see why, as I felt very confident she would take great care of me.

The first five minutes consisted of being berated for having forgotten my records from another provider. SHe didn't even bother to recognize that many of them were in my duke file! I was THEN berated for not having repeated tests I had just done at another facility. I told her what my record from the other provider said and she said :I highly doubt it. This is the kind of MD that doesn't SEE that patient. It seems the only things that she views as credible are the opinions/accounts of MD's.
