Dr Ali Melhem is an outstanding doctor. I have seen other well known Psychiatrists in the past and my only complaint is that I wish I had seen him sooner. I was initially hostile because I didn't agree with my diagnosis but he persevered and now I trust him implicitly. He is busy but always finds time to speak to me-he stays sometimes until 7pm. Great Dr and person. Highly recommend.

Stay away from this doctor if you care about yourself at all. Melhem has not seen me in years.- -yet I can not get away from him. Today, If I have a physical problem and get medical help, Melhem sends me--no matter what---to psych. There they try to force meds for a misdiagnosis from years ago. Psych meds made me suicidal, see & hear things. This is in the pamphlet but Melhem denied it He also denied that life expectency is cut by 35 yr's for for that crap he gave me. Dangerously CLUELESS! !!

I would never recommend this poor excuse for a Dr. Absolutely horrible excuse for a human being.
in Newport, NH |
Very helpful. I'm in a much better place than I was prior to seeing Dr.A. He does take his time to listen everytime I have seen him. Willing to work with you on meds if you ask. I've taken away 1 star for scheduling. Very long wait times.

I saw him about 25 times total during my two stays at Cambridge. He is very knowledgeable and prepared. The only issue is he often comes between 9pm and 11pm and that is unfair and unprofessional for patient care. If he came earlier and roughly when he said he would there would be no issues.
Columbus |
Very arrogant. Lacks compassion. Is condescending when talking to me. Has no interest in person mental health history prior to diagnose. Put me on medications and increased to rapidly causing me to have seizures and uncontrolled tremors.
in Wheeling, WV |
NO! I would never ever recommend him. He would not listen to me and kept prescribing the wrong types of medicine for me. I ended up in an inpatient hospital due to his ignorance and now I have missed work and still am recovering. The only good thing that came from this awful experience was that I found a REAL Doctor and got the correct type of medicine and am slowly regaining my life back.
