I have never had a doctor/surgeon/nurse spend as much valuable time with me as Dr. Powers did. Long story short - 7 months of dealing with herniated L5/S1 pain with sciatica issues. At the time of seeing Dr. Powers, I had finally started to get some semblance of normal function, but having Dr. Powers understand my whole history on the injury, and a plan going forward, was so valuable. He spent nearly 1 whole hour sitting and talking with me, hearing my complaints, and was so, so helpful.

My letter to Dr. Powers: When it became obvious that we would have to proceed with surgery, few doctors have the magic of touch and words, like you do, to replace the fear and uncertainty of surgery with trust and confidence. Your quality and integrity as a surgeon and, more importantly, as a person, shine through. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for you. Thank you for taking such great care of me.

I typically don't take the time to write up reviews but I can say without a doubt Dr. Powers is the best Doctor I have ever seen. From his bedside manor, to the skill in performing my procedure to recovery. Not only was this a second opinion, (the day before my planned surgery) but he convinced me the procedure I was about to have a TLIF wasn't necessary and he could resolve the issue with a much less invasive decompression procedure. Lucky for me he had a cancellation the following day.

Dr Powers is an anomaly. Surgeons are known for their personalities (or lack thereof.) Dr Powers spends a lot of time w his patients. He listens well & explains everything thoroughly. His staff members are also top notch.

Dr. Powers is without a doubt one of the finest doctors you could see. He takes his time with you and answers any and all your concerns. I am having my second surgery and look forward to feeling great again.

What an awesome doctor. Never did I feel rushed. He sat down and discussed with me in detail about my various options. He answered all of my questions and was very friendly. He came highly recommended and I cam from over an hour away to meet with him. I am so happy that I did. The only issue is not really his problem. Getting an appointment with him can take months.
