Excellent doctor. Hernia surgery. Had unexpected retina detachment and surgery next day. Velcro girdle that was put on after hernia surgery made it possible to have little to no pain lying still and only moderate pain rolling over or getting out of bed. Really appreciated that as I had my hands full dealing with recovery from retina surgery. Within a week I was pain free from hernia repair. As others have mentioned, he also gave me tips on how to avoid needing hernia surgery again. Would definitely recommend Dr. Rose. Pat M. 8/3/2020

Dr. Rose assisted in by back surgery with Dr. James Perry. Dr. Rose handled the robotics of my surgery. At our initial preop meeting he won me over with his eye contact while talkingto me. He explained his part in my surgery by drawing a diagram of the spine, I liked that because I'm a visual person. He made me feel relaxed. I also had a great feeling about his staff and their willingness to help. At my post op visit four weeks after surgery, he answered All my list of questions. He explained every incision I had and why they were necessary. He gave my husband and I his undivided attention, not rushed, asking several times if we had any other questions or concerns. He noticed that I was reading Alicia Keys book, and we talked about the cancelled concert due to COVID 19, he had front row seats. He's a nice person, I like his "swagger". Thank you very much Dr. Rose. R. Smalls July 28, 2020

I have undergone two surgeries by Dr. Rose. I was very pleased and happy with the care provided by Dr. Rose and his staff during office visits or if I called in with questions. Dr. Rose’s knowledge and abilities are outstanding as a surgeon; he answers all your questions and provides you with his undivided attention when he sees you. He is very friendly and outgoing and makes you feel comfortable about undergoing surgery. Both my surgeries were a success, and I credit that to Dr. Rose’s outstanding knowledge, skills and experience. I unhesitatingly recommend him for your surgical needs.

Dr. Rose did an EXCELLENT repair on a large umbilical hernia I developed after having had a hysterectomy four years ago. I really appreciated his attentiveness and the efficiency of his office staff as well. Highly Recommend!

Dr Rose successfully repaired my incisional hernia. He was able to get my surgery scheduled quickly. He carefully explained how to get through the healing process, more importantly, ways to protect myself from a reoccurrence. He was very patient with my questions and very thorough with his explanations.

My inguinal hernia was brought to Dr. Rose's attention since he was the Doctor on call at the time. I am so thankful that this was the case. I can't speak to Dr. Rose's bedside manner, but I can say that what I needed was a Doctor who would 'shoot straight' with me. This he did and as a patient that's what I want; someone who gives you the perspective to make the right decision for you. I cannot say enough good things about him. He was very mindful of making sure that any and all questions I had were answered accurately. They were and my recovery has been great. If you need a great Surgeon look no further than Dr. Rose.

Dr. Rose is caring and personal. He explains things to you in easy to understand terms, and will tell you honestly what your options are. He will patiently answer your questions (no matter how stupid). I have gone to Dr. Rose 3 times all with very good outcomes. I would not trust anyone else. His medical assistant is prompt at returning my calls and is cheerful and competent when answering my questions.

My case was very small, but still needing general surgical repair. I wanted to complete my procedure in a surgery center, not a hospital, and Dr. Rose was the perfect fit for me. In and out of the surgery center in a matter of hours, things could not have gone better. His staff was wonderful throughout, including post op. If I need general surgical services again, I will definitely return to Dr. Rose and his team.

After a sonogram revealed a mass which was "undefined", i turned to trusted North Florida surgeons to find Dr Rose. What a treat and a very good decision it turned out to be. Dr Rose was able to safely remove the mass with good resolve. While the surgery was more involved than anticipated, Dr Rose went so many extra levels to ensure that i would be pleased with the appearance and placement of the scar post op. Im very pleased and healing quicker than anticipated.

I'm a recently retired cancer doctor who moved to the Jacksonville area. Soon thereafter I developed a recurrent umbilical hernia. I hadn't even had time to establish a, local primary care doctor. What to do ? So I did my research on the internet and found Dr. Rose. I'm sure glad I did. He handled my complex case quickly and efficiently. I went home the same day after robotic surgery. Minimal discomfort. He has a reassuring bedside manner and answered all of my questions. His office runs superbly. Always on time. His assistant Chrissey is the best. I give him my highest recommendation.

I was referred to Dr. Rose by another doctor. I was afraid that I would be wasting my time as he was the third doctor I was seeing to figure out what was wrong with me. Within minutes, Dr. Rose was able to diagnose the problem and scheduled the surgery very quickly. At the surgery, he came and explained everything to me and to my husband and answered all our questions and treated us with kindness and care. He has a wonderful caring bedside manner and is an asset to his profession.

I was referred to a different surgeon, than Dr. Rose, but that surgeon was booked for several weeks. I chose Dr. Rose as he could see me sooner. I am happy to say that I HIT THE JACKPOT of surgeons. He was able to schedule my appointment and surgery quickly, complete my surgery in a much easier manner than my GI had predicted and I had an excellent outcome. My surgery went off without a hitch and I was back at work in 4 days and feeling TERRIFIC! If you need a highly skilled, personable surgeon, Dr. Alexander Rose and his staff offer superior healthcare.
