Dr. Obolsky's bio

This content was provided by Dr. Obolsky "Dr. Obolsky is a physician who is board certified in general and forensic psychiatry. He performs psychiatric assessment, psychotherapy, and medication management. His clinical areas of interest are in trauma related issues, relationships, chronic pain, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder, and helping patients recover from traumatic experiences. Patients are seen for 45 minutes and are seen within 5 minutes of their appointment time. Dr. Obolsky is available on his cell 24/7 for his clinical patients for urgent care issues. Dr. Obolsky is an out of network provider. In addition, Dr. Obolsky performs forensic psychiatric evaluations on individuals involved in medical-legal litigation (worker's compensation, personal injury, criminal proceedings). These individuals are not Dr. Obolsky's patients (he is an independent evaluator) and they may not receive an opinion that they agree with. The negative comments/ratings left on this site are written by individuals who are not Dr. Obolsky's patients and most likely have not liked the findings of the forensic psychiatric evaluation. Unlike clinical appointments, forensic appointments (IMEs) may not start on time if the doctor is attending to a clinical patient or if he is reviewing the records for the evaluation. Forensic evaluations last from 2 to 4 hours and may require more than one visit. In most cases, our clients are attorneys (plaintiff and defense), insurance carriers and employers. Dr. Obolsky works on state and federal level cases and performs evaluations in other states. The goal of the forensic psychiatric evaluation is not to get the evaluee to like the doctor. The goals of the evaluations are a) to establish the diagnosis and to determine if the diagnosis/symptoms are causally related to the injury (a legal concept); b) establish a diagnosis and to determine if employee is safe to return to work with or without accommodations; or c) if an individual was sane or insane at the time of the crime. Dr. Obolsky is a very experienced and seasoned psychiatrist. I did not feel my previous psychiatrist understood me or my issues. Dr. Obolsky does not take insurance, but he is worth it. You get what you pay for.

I have been seeing Dr. Obolsky weekly for psychotherapy and medication management. He is one of a few psychiatrists who still sees patients for 45 minutes, provides therapy, and answers his cell phone after office hours. He has helped me deal with depression and serious losses. I was fortunate to...Read More
