I can’t praise Dr McLawhorn and his staff enough. After years of pain and limited mobility I am up and back to doing all the things I was forced to limit because of my knee pain. My visits to the Stamford office were efficient and informative. I recommend Dr. McLawhorn without reservation.

Dr. McLawhorn and his team took excellent care of me from my first phone call to his office and all throughout pre and post surgery. I had been in pain for over a year and I was limping. The last few months before surgery I could barely walk. It has been six weeks since my left anterior hip replacement surgery. I no longer limp and my pain is gone with the exception of minor pain from healing. Dr. McLawhorn has given me back my quality of life and I am so thankful.

Dr McLawhorn replaced my right on july 15th . I was home in one day and up and walking without a cane in 3.5 weeks. I found him to straight forward and patient and his technical skill is as good as it gets. I would highly reccomend him to anyone who needs joint replacement surgery.

Dr McLawhorn and his team are so professional and calming they answered all my questions when I first met them. I went in with one leg longer and in terrible pain in my hip. When I woke up 2 hours later there was not pain deep in my hip and I was then able to stand flat on both fee. My life has been changed forever. I would give the highest recommendation beyond all scales! I have recommended Dr. McLawhorn and will continue.

I can't say enough about my positive experience with Dr. McLawhorn and his amazing support team. From the our first tele-health appointment, through the surgery, to 6 week post-op check up, Dr. McLawhorn was patient, answered my long list of questions & has a great bed side manner. I like his straightforward attitude and he makes you feel calm and that you are in good hands - which proves correct. His team that surrounds him are also super responsive, quick, helpful and compassionate. I was stunned how little pain was involved. Getting a full hip replacement was a much easier experience than I had anticipated. Take his advice and keep your core strong. You will need your abs to turn over! As someone else said, if/when I have to do hip #2, I will do just about anything to be sure this team does the deed! Thank you Dr. McL, et al!

I had a left hip replacement by Dr. McLawhorne 5 months ago, and doing great as a result. I was in unbearable pain before, but that’s history now. The doctors, staff at HSS Stamford were very attentive & caring. Dr. McLawhorne is a great listener & genuinely cares about his patient’s concerns. Had a good follow up visit, and now looking forward to getting the right hip done as well, with Dr, McLawhorne!

After doing extensive research on orthopedic surgeons and hospitals in Pennsylvania, I chose Dr. McLawhorn at HSS in NYC. The nurses at HSS were kind and responded to my calls almost immediately. The hospital was clean and efficient. I can’t say enough positive things about Dr. McLawhorn. Besides getting me back to tennis, golf, biking and other sports within 3 months, I appear to have zero leg discrepancy. He also responded to many email communications within minutes when I had concerns at home. The man is incredibly intelligent, compassionate and a talented surgeon. I will not even consider another surgeon or hospital should I need hip or knee surgery!

Under no circumstances would I recommend Stamford Hospital or this crew. There were several screw ups leading up to the surgery that never took place. This was after 2 months of waiting for an appointment and a surgery date. Started off ok based on a relatives recommendation and ended up a disaster. One would think doctors could conference call, but apparently not.

My 87 year old mother had a TRH replacement in September 2019. Almost 4 months after her surgery, I received this email from her personal trainer: "I just wanted to quickly touch base again to say how “AMAZING” your mom is doing after the hip replacement! On Wednesday she did the entire 25-minute Tai Chi routine (and remembered much of it herself!), and today she walked her ½ mile on the treadmill and did all her step-up and leg exercises along with squats and balance like it was nothing. She literally looks like she has miraculously turned back the clock a couple of years, to where she was before in our exercise routine, and like she never even had hip surgery. Amazing! Additionally, she is so energetic and vibrant and enthusiastic this week --- and coupled with her impressive weight loss --- that she looks like she turned the clock back a whole 15 years!" Thank you does not even come close to expressing our gratitude for the care and expertise my mother received.
