Cataract surgery for my 70 year old wife went fine, but they persuaded us that with the addition of expensive laser refractive surgery, her vision overall could be improved. Not only did it make it slightly worse, but she ended up with life long dry eye syndrome that requires multiple and very expensive drops every day, and is quite uncomfortable. Their only suggestion was more surgery, and more risk, so we passed on that. Gerber's practice had taken care of her for over 10 years, and had to know she was not a safe candidate for laser surgery. They tend to run this like an assembly line, so be careful and get another opinion.

I have been having ingrown eyelashes plucked for 30 years. When my regular ophthalmologist retired I was referred to Dr. Gerber. He told me that I needed a very expensive prescription and also a laser surgery to remove "scar tissue" that was the cause of the scratching sensation I was feeling. I got a second opinion and the second ophthalmologist said I did NOT have scar tissue, I did NOT need a surgery or prescription...He plucked the ingrown lashes out and my eyes are perfect. Beware.

Dr. Gerber totally botched my high procedure and then kicked me to the curb . Because of Dr. Gerber's poor performance I've had to spend one and a half years driving to Boston to see a cornea specialist and I'm still not done
