He completed two clinical fellowships in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. Dr. Gil-Acosta is bilingual in English and Spanish. He joined Oaklawn's active staff in December 2002."
