Dr. Heck's last words to me on his way out the door were, "If the MRI does show anything, it will be from the smoking, nothing else." He should lose his license to practice medicine. Do no harm, ha.

I went to Dr. Heck because of chronic headaches that I've experienced for years. While he was generous with his time and gentle in manner, he seemed to imply that my symptoms were more imagined or "in my head." He actually recalled the way doctors treated women with migraine symptoms in the 1950s with fondness, saying that back then, it was called "perfectionism." He seems to have a skepticism around women's ability to accurately understand and report what's happening in their own bodies.

I recently attended an office appointment with my parents. Dr. Heck was very patient and kind. He completed a thorough Neurological exam and conveyed the results of his exam in terms a lay person could understand.

My doctor mentioned MS as a possible cause of my symptoms and he dismissed it entirely. Said stop right there. Dont even go there. MS doesnt cause pain. Yet with even a little research you can discover that it does. His education seems out dated. He was disinterested in anything my doctor and I did prior, like he didnt want to hear it and insinuated that my primary care doc was stupid. I felt judged the moment we met. Implied all my symptoms in my head and did very basic examination.
